I'm debating on buying the cypher from AAM but need to know how I can tell if my car is a 2004 or 2004 1/2.. The cypher does not work on the 03-04 models. Does anyone know how I can tell the difference???

Ok..I'll do your research for you...look at the bottom of page 3 or it could be moved to the top of page 4 of this very same forum....you'll have your answer....

 

Ok are you sure because I do not want to waste $400... My car does have the knee pads... Thanks again for the feedback..

There is also a way to tell by the VIN number. That's how I found out mine was an 04.5 before I realized that the knee pads would have been the easier way to find out

Do a *gasp* SEARCH and there is a topic about how to look it up with the VIN

 

I originally found the official distinction between the two on the nissan-tech.com site. You can tell in the VIN numbers:
