my $0.02
I have heard several times that the 350Z is electronically limited to 153 MPH. I believe that's how fast you're going when you hit the rev limiter in 6th gear.
I do 0-60 races all the time. That's how fast you can get away with in a 45 MPH zone in my city. Up to 60 and you're relatively safe, any faster & they'll pop you. The thing is, I can get to 60 in second gear! Everybody else is WAY back there! It's a thrill, but kind of like coitus interruptus, if you know what I mean.
I've had the car to 140, on US 1 coming back from Sanford on a Saturday afternoon with very little traffic. Very solid. Felt like I was crawling when I reigned it back down to 80.

havent seen 5.2, have seen 5.5 I know it can do that, and Ive heard 5.3, but only way for someone to measure 0-60 is with a radar gun or Gtech, the latter is optimistic, and the former has not been done with a stat of 5.2. none the less I think 5.5 is plenty fast.
the Z does 155, limited, it has the gearing to be redline limited at 188 I believe it was. it will not get there. most likely it can do 160-170, it will vary depending on if you have aero package, and how your personal dyno curve is oriented.

Governed Bummer..
Is there anything available to get rid of that yet?
I used to love short street races, but now the thrill is gone... Interstate 70mph ~ 130mph are a blast! And usually over rather quickly..since you know right away if the other car will keep with you or not.

Party-pooper!
AFAIK there is no "demonstration of speed" laws here in North Carolina. This is racing country after all!

OK, but this has absolutely nothing to do with what we were talking about, which is taking off from a stoplight and then settling down once you reach 60 MPH. You're just here to make trouble. Please go away.
