hi guys, i have a 2004 350z base model. I've had the car brand new.. anyways .. starting about 2 weeks ago, i'm hearing this airplane engine noise when i put gear in place and not pressing any pedal while moving. i know some might say its normal.. but this sound is pretty loud. ive raced my car, yes, but only like 3 times total in those almose 3 years. and changed gears at 5500rpm. trans problem? the car runs fine without any problem.
any help/comment would definately help me thanks

 

sry, can't help on the problem.. but if it is loud, you should def. video tape it down! nice to have a Z sounding like a jet

 

sounds to me like your synchro's. its normal. if im doing like 20 maybe 25 in first and the clutch is in and im just rolling it makes somewhat of an "airplane" type noise i guess.

 

thats just normal gear noise. Its louder in the lower gears?

 

yea when i slow down it sounds like a jet or something which is pretty kool, but dont worry about that

i was wondering what the sound was b/c my friend has 2006 Z and his dont make that sound.... YET!

Do you have an "electronic supercharger?"

 

Does it happen when you are slowing down? Like from 40 to 20, if so it's probably your tires.
