FINALLY! First 'real' drive impressions
FINALLY.........
Today I got to really drive my Z. Some of you may remember that I ordered my LeMans Sunset Enthusiast 6-speed 350Z back in October because my dealer told me to expect delivery in late February or early March. Lo and behold, the car arrived on Christmas Eve! I drove it the 2 miles to my garage and there it sat because we here in western New York State have experienced our worst winter in 20 years.
So now the weather breaks and today it is brilliant sunshine and 52 degrees. I uncover the Z, carefully warm it up and head out on the highway. As a long-time Z-Car Nut, I have owned seven and still have four of them, here are my first impressions:
- The chassis is TIGHT. The car handles like it is on rails.
- The Bridgestone tires are noisy, especially in the rear.
- The base stereo is very nice.
- The car revs incredibly easy. Hard to keep under 4000 rpm.
- Power and torque in all gears at all rpm, incredible.
- The shifter is very precise and short...takes some getting used to.
- The damn "service engine soon" light came on within 2 miles. Car seems to be fine, but here is a very early trip to the service department to check it out.
- I have the infamous grease marks on my windows.
- People drive like idiots because they cannot take their eyes off of the Z!
- It attracts attention like no other car I have ever had.
- It attracts females.
- Mustang owners are green with envy.
All I can say is, the car is all you all have said and more. Nissan outdid themselves. I can't wait to try it again tomorrow! I love this car!
Z on!
