Default Base or Enthusiast

Basicly the upgrade to Enth gives you TCS and LSD.... for about $2,000

the limited slip doesn't work well with aftermarket tires (read: tires with very high grip) as i understand it, thus if you love going to the track (road course), and autocross and run race tires it doesn't do much good because the tires overpower the LSD .

i don't know how well the TCS works, but i would guess it is usefull in the snow/rain.

So, what do you guys think? worth the $2,000? for $2,000 you can put in a KAAZ LSD

I had an 05 base and now an 06 Enthusiast. spend the 2 grand and get the Enthusiast. cruise control is also a plus along with the LSD and TCS. when you sell the car you should get the 2 grand or most of it back. Like the OP mentioned it has been discussed in detail so look around and compare for yourself.

lol, i know every difference between the two i was just wandering what the general thought about the two from a performance standpoint. if you are going to change that rear end anyway, is it worth it for the TCS?

TCS can definately save your a$$, especially in rainy weather when the back end gets a little jumpy on you. That being said I drive an 05 base model, been doing it for a year and have never even been close to an accident. I drove it all winter long too up here in New Hampshire. Used to drive 35 miles each way to work in blizzards, but by the time i got to work my ***** were in my throat and my knuckles were white and i was grabbing the wheel so tight my hands hurt

LOL. Enthusiast owners say yes.
Base owners say no.
The number of Enthusiast owners is significantly larger than Base owners. So the Enthusiast wins.

I'm not sure there is a right answer for the question. Truth be told, although I bought a Base, I was shopping for the Enthusiast. Heck, I wanted a Touring, but didn't want to spend quite that much right now.

I think if you live above the Snow Belt, then you need the lsd and vdc, if you are going to drive in the winter. Not to mention snow tires.

I will be putting an aftermarket lsd on the Z at some point, and I knew this going in. It's one of the reasons I decided to purchase the Base they had on the lot.

As far as vdc, I would have it turned off in all but the worst weather. I can't stand electronic driving aids, no matter how well integrated they are.

I think it just comes down to preference.

Your brave, in fairfax last year, there was just little over half an inch of snow and I couldn't even keep the car straight. And that was just with half an inch of snow on the ground. I love driving in snow, just not in the Z.

That will never happen. I will be replying to pop charger questions when I am 90 years old.
