Default V8 swap

Hey guiys please dont cut my head off but Ive been hearing some rumors about guys swapping v8's into the 350z's. I heard they were using titan motors or ls1's. I tried searching but couldnt find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would like to build one for a daily driver, possibly use it for track racing.

I don't see why not. They've been putting V8s in 280Zs for years. LS1s are popular in RX7s and Porsche 944s.

I was looking into it.

TTP in NJ was willing to take it on. LS6. I am leaving soon for the military and just decided it was too much.

why put an ls1 into a 350 anyway? i cant imagine that the weight difference would be anything spectacular. however, ls1 rx7s are just plain sick.

So you are looking at spending $30,000 on a Z and put another $7,000 or so into the engine, $2,500 in tranny, $1,000 for rear and axles, $1,000 for wheels and tires, and a few hundred for misc parts? You could buy a new C6 which would still be lighter and have more power with a warranty and have a few dollars left over.

this is more for a shop that can pull it off on a crapped car.

or someone w/ money to burn.

but i guess this is still cheap then the built motor w/ TT kit, I just spent.

Read the post above you.

Who said anything about buying a new one? I would look for a roller or a cheap 03 if I was to do it. I was looking for more info, it's not like I have commited to doing this. As for the vette Ive already had a modded gen 2 viper, Im not really a big vette fan. 7k for a ls1 where have you been shopping?
