excuse the newbishism, but what does it do (other than damping the steering), what benefit does it give the driver. i've only seen steering dampers on bikes before, i didn't even know they had them for cars

It's a good question, and all i can tell you is that i had them on my jeep to help move around 35 inch tires, as far as the Z goes i am not really sure. My friend had on his R1, but that was to help speed wabble (sp?) who knows the Z might need them at the higher speeds to keep vibration down in the stearing wheel

My dealer just got two GT models, and I am driving one of them on Friday.
I'm going to hold out for a SMB Enthusiast though.

all i wanna know is how fast is it...i have a feeling the 07 G coupe will smoke it with the 3.9 fd.

its not 3.9FD..its 3.692... and the Z is what, 250lbs lighter? but then the G has a true dual exhaust...hmmm it may be a close call...
it does seem like the 3.9FD would be a really really good match for this engine though...
