First thoughts. The bluetooth works alot better than I thought. Voice recognition is excellent. You can literally talk at normal speeds when dialing numbers.

Bad part is it cannot download your numbers. And the BT system does not seem integrated or make use of the BOSE screen except for saying "PHONE"

WOW

And i thought getting one out the door tag/tax/title for 30,500.00 would be good.

Default $30,500 OTD is possible

I have verified a good price on insurance (95 per month) and will be getting loan quotes next week. I know I have told many of you that I wanted to wait till May or June before I buy, but I am having strange dreams, and I can't stop thinking about the dam* car. I have even bought small items for the car and they should be arriving soon. Unfortunately the Nismo sway bars I found at a good price were too good to be true. O well I would rather have new stuff anyway. So maybe by the end of FEB or March I will have her.

I am shooting for the enthusiast for around $30,500.00. Think that price can be done?

Cheers

Kevin
I just ordered a 2007 Enthusiast manual with the usual options (splash guards, aluminum kick plates, floor mats, trunk mat, cargo package). The OTD price was within $1 of your target, including 6% sales tax and all fees. I might have been able to do a little better if I had bought off the lot.

According to the dealer, the car was already built but had not yet been allocated to a dealer. I should have it in about two weeks.

I'ma hold off till my drop comes. I put them on just to get an idea and yep, the rear is too gappy. Plus I still want to get a feel for the car so I don't end up curbing a Volk.

Putting my splash guards on today though, they arrived the other day ;p

Evo:

What was your sales price before taxes? Nice ride, what's your impression about the Burnt Orange seats...seeing a pic vs the actual thing are too different. I've been contemplating getting the Carbon Silver with the same interior or the San Marino Blue with the Charcoal Interior. 2 weeks ago I was almost sure that, (after having already posted it on the forum), I was going to drive away with a Black 2006 Roadster with A/T. I pulled out of the deal as I couldn't convince myself that I'd like the auto tranny, I like shiftin'. So I'm going for the 2007 touring coupe M/T. Congrats on the new wheels, nice pics, be sure to use a good carnuba wax on her, stroke her gently, read her bedtime stories about SCCA racing moments AND MOST IMPORTANT..... have you given HER a name yet?????

Thumbs down Fact or Crap????

While I have everyone'e un-divided attention. The local dealer here in Tucson charges about $900 for "paint treatment" and undercarriage coating. Have any of you run accross this in your purchases. It seems to be a load of crap in an effort to con the consumer!!!! I give it 2 thumbs down....way down

Tell the dealer you want to observe the coating and treatment process in person and that you want a sample of the chemical so you can have it analyzed by your scientists.

I paid 32500 for it. I could have gottne a better deal but a car equiped the way I wanted it was no where near. In fact, 5 dealerships said it did not exist. The one I got it from had it trucked down from ~500 miles away. There good customer service deserved my cash.

The seats, I love them. they look REALLY orange in the pics but look more toned down in real life. I thought the black seats will make the interior look drab. The orange brings more life and charector to the interior I think. My avitar actually depicts that and it shows how the orange really looks.

today was the first day I saw CS in the sun. It is darker than SS. The bright sun highlights and the darker shadows are more contrasty (sp word?) i think. Overall color combo, I love it jsut as I tought I would.

Still getting used to the car. Makes alot of little drivetrain noises but from what I gather, it is normal. Wasting alot of gas . Had since monday and already have almost 400 miles on it. Strange, I can hear the gas in the gas tank from the drivers seat...

Are you driving it hard and did you change your oil and filter yet? Read the controversial info about proper break-in? http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I was staying below 4K up to 300 miles. But I was shifting clost to 4k everytime and accelerated hard. Since 300 miles, Ive been goin to 5k. I will get an oil change at 500 and probobly push it even harder then. So I guess it is a combination of the manual and the other method.

From what i understand the so called undercoating is put on from the factory, and will wear off over time. I was told the the coating is put on to protect the vehicle from the salty and wet elements the car experiences while being shipped from Japan. I am not totally sure this is true, but it make since to me.

Cheers

Maybe true, but BS at 900 bucks. The week-long boat ride doesn't expose your car to as much salt as driving it for 10 minutes in the winter post ice or snowfall so I'd say opt-out if its a dealer option. Never heard of the factory doing this and adding the cost to MSRP without it showing up on the invoice. This is usually a dealer thing and cost them 2 bucks in chemicals and they turn around and charge you 900. Slick bastard$...
