I payed the 500 dollar ordering fee for my fiance to get her SKY. it should be in by June or so......shes not getting the redline (turbo) version but i think its a nice car for her! me personally. i like to start off with a platform with more horsepower to begin with. The Z is much more of a sports car than the sky. The sky is apt to having mods just like any car. but the same mods on the Z. turbo, exhaust, clutch, etc. will be kicking at least 100 more hp than a sky with the same mods.
to me, the sky is more of an entry level sports car, not as performance as a Z!

People are funny. The Sky/Solstice are the first American cars I actually like...in a long time. For the price, there isn't much to compare. The reliability is something we make up to be worse than it is, how "reliable" have our Zs been? Not really at the top of the charts.
If I was buying a car tomorrow it would be the Solstice, I think the shape is more pure, looks more like it was made from one piece, very old sportscar looking and Ferrari-esque.
I really want to support US made things, and I'd say go for it. You won't see tons of them everywhere, but you should. Probably the best 26K out there right now.
And deposits on cars are fully refundable. Never let a dealer take your money

The Z has history. It is a way of life. My guess is there will be NO mysaturnskyline.com website like this. I think the car is beautiful but still it is a GM Saturn and I cannot get past that. I agree that car will be everywhere in a year just like the Vette. I would never get rid of a Z to get a Saturn.

For someone who hasn't owned a Z or a similar sports car, the Saturn is a fine choice. The price and performance are just right and there will be tons of after market parts to follow. Plus the engine is built for boost so it can be easily upgraded. To the people talking about heritage, that's just silly. A car is not born with heritage, it has to build it over the years. The 1953 Corvette, 1970 Z and 1964 911 weren't born with heritage but see how they evolved. How do you know this car isn't going to be around for several generations? Nissan isn't known for its reliability and some of you are trashing GM like it's any worse. There's a long list of TSBs for the Z and a sea of people with replaced manual trannies. All things set aside, I love the Z but it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread. To those who already own Zs, if you're going to trade, trade up not lateral.

I like the looks of the Sky, but it's a GM car. My first two cars were both BRAND NEW special order GM cars, and they were in the shop every other week. I had to sell my one GM car after only 49,000 miles because it had serious engine problems, and the repair was going to cost more than the car was worth! GM and FORD cars don't hold their value. Stick with the import, its more fun!
