Default Swooshing noise around 3k rpm.

I have a 06 MT and it just broke 6000 miles. The other day when i was driving it was making this swooshing noise like the car is sucking a bunch of air in when it reaches 3k rpm and when i push in the clutch at times it makes this noise like cards in a bike spoke. The car is bone stock. Wondering if anyone has had this problem? Also when i go to check the dipstick oil is all over the rod. Is this normal? What is the suggested oil pressure on the guage? Thank you.

Not sure about your other problems, but the Z's dipstick is about as useless as our cheap paint.

The swooshing is like the sound of a honda civic that just got a air intake installed. Thing is my car is bone stock. My oil pressure is pretty low as well. I added a quart today till i can go in to the dealer.

Check the anti-swooshing valve. It mighty be clogged with back pressure.

Welcome to the world of 06 MT Oil Consumption. I wish I could help you with the swooshing. I have not had that. But certainly a +1 on oil consumption. One note though, I would not have filled it up. I would have taken it in and had them see it was low. Either way, I'm sure they will start you on the oil consumption test. I'm going through that now What are you considering low oil pressure?

I would almost bet it was b/c of the low oil. I had the same problem in my car one day. I was driving around and it started making that noise, and noticed my oil pressure was waaaaaaaaaay down. Didn't realize the Z burned oil until I joined on here and read about them.

+100000. Thanks to reading the forums I was able to notice that my oil was not even reading on the dipstick after less than 3000 miles from the previous change. That's why we visit these forums!
