My car went down in value........
Or maybe they were trying to screw me at the dealership. I'm starting a new business and I need a truck.............So I decided I would trade in my Z for a 4 door Nissan Frontier. I love my Z and I take excellent care of it. I've never dragged it, raced it or done anything out of the ordinary with my car. It's in excellent condition. I took it to the dealership just too see how much they're were willing to give me and they were trying to offer me 18k for 2006 Nissan 350z coupe 6spd manual transmission 8k miles. Honestly, I was expecting alittle more for the car...........something like 24 k at least...........I could have definately worked with that. So I guess now, since I can't trade and won't trade it, I'm going to have to keep enjoying the car while paying the high insurance rate.
I was curious to see what my car would yield for a trade a few weeks back, it's an 03 touring w/ 29,000 miles and in Mint condition...So the Nissan dealership told me 17k for a trade, when I pointed out they had an 03 with 5k more miles and less options on the lot for $23,500 they didn't know how to respond...

haha, welcome to the world of used car sales & trade-ins. i love how the dealer says that's the highest they can give you and but turn around and sell it at a higher cost.
kit (loves watching the salesmen smirk when someone asks about tradeing in)

I just grabbed my key and walked off..............I'll keep my z.............I take good enough care of it to last me a long time.
But yeah, I got a new baby at the house and the mom's car is totalled so I'm forced to buy another car that will accomodate the baby...........I mean, I love the Z...............but I guess that worst that could happen is I buy a used car for a 3-4 k and keep the Z.

Although I hate dealerships, I can see why it would be stupid for them to buy back a vehicle without some profit margin.
Would be idiotic for them to give you what they would hope to sell the vehicle for.

I would buy for it that price! 24k that is.... even with the exchange rate!
But at least you have at least 3 options available to you..
1- Go to another dealer and offer a trade in.
2- Buy a decent beater
3- Sell private
