First 350Z Aftermarket Upgrades Confirmed!
This is a quote from Avalon Racing (taken from http://www.350zforum.com)
"As soon as the cars start being delivered, We will have JIC coilovers and titanium exhausts ready to go. These have been test fitted by JIC already. Besdides my personal one coming, we are getting one to build."

Thanks for the update, Nismo already has a couple exhaust options for the JP market. (the bottom one being Titanium) I would expect them to show here as well. The great thing about Nismo is that you won't screw your factory warranty by adding parts.

How much more are we talking for a titanium compared to the stainless steel? and how much weight savings? Does it emit a different sound due to the metal or is that all based on internal baffling (just thinking that a different metal would emit a different sound).

I saw a price for the NISMO titanium exhaust, and it seems like it was well over a 1000 bucks, maybe even 2. I have also seen titanium mufflers weighing 2-3 lbs. The sound should not be any different.
But, I would like to eliminate some weight from the front, not the rear to get the weight as close to 50/50.

It is $1800+ bucks and it says it is a "muffler" only. I will try to post a link to the thread, if it does not work, do a search for titanium exhaust, it is in 2 posts by FairladyZinJapan..https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....tanium+exhaust

A complete waste of money as far as I'm concerned.
It's one thing to install a CAT back system which reduces back pressure and increases HP. But a titanium muffler? For a show car, maybe.

How will they have coilovers available when the Z doesn't use them? From the 14 min video, it looked like the sping and the strut (or shock. I get them confused) are separate.

Take a deep breath and understand that NISMO stuff may not be readily available for a year or so. All items will probably be available as special orders, but plan on them being for racing purposes only.
Also with the yen getting stronger, two grand may be low for the titanium muffler now.
Have I been wrong in the past?
BTW: JIC/Zeal spares are available through Stillen.

Rxo.
Okay I'm understanding the deal with Nismo. I'm just going to have to pick my upgrades uh... "price consciously"? $2k for a muffler is nto in my league. Now get me a part that actually noticeably IMPROVES performance and tack a $2k cost on it and I'm all about it!
Considering that Nismo product installs will keep the car under warranty it'd be nice to see maybe 2 tiers of products... serious racers and enthusiasts? I'd be an enthusiast with my Z going to the track maybe here and there on the weekends.
Anyway... that $$$ buckage
