Default Thinking of selling.. Whats my Z worth?

Hey guys and gals,

After 3.5 years with my baby I am considering getting a new car. I still love my Z but its time for me to "grow up" a bit and get a more practical car. I wish I could keep the Z forever but I just cant afford too keep it and get a new car right now

Anyway, I wanted to get your opinion on what you think my Z might be worth f I were to sell it on the private market. I have put alot of time and money into my Z as you will see from th mods listed below.

2003 350z Enthusiast: $29,500
Black Leather Interior: $1,000
Volk Racing GT-C 19' w/toyo tires $3000
Killer Sound system: $7,000
(kenwood DDX-6019 7" NAV, all new JL component audio speakers, JL audio stealthbox w 2 10's, 2 JL audio amps, clean installation)
Kinetix Plenum & hi flow cats: $700
Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley: $200 (? i cant remem cost)
Greddy Strut Bar $125
JWT pop charger $125

With everything invested I figure its at about $41,500. The car is a 2003 enthusiast with approx 40,000 miles.

So what do you guys think? I know I am going to have to find the right buyer to pay the extra $$ for all the mods but is it possible? Anyone looking to buy a nice hooked up 350z Do you think I would be better off parting it out and trying to go back to as close as stock as possible?

Anyway, thanks so much guys for 3.5 years of pleasure with this awesome car. I can honestly say I usually get sick of cars after about a year or so, but I still get a smile on my face every time I get in the Z

So what do you think I can get for my Z? Any input is appreciated

Nice car man! Sorry to hear you can't afford it anymore.

As far as price i haven't a clue but i know for sure you won't get 41,500

Good Luck

Cheers

Nice car. I think I'd pay around 22k for it. If you include pics of this killer sound system it might help.

I just sold my black 2003 Enthusiast (Nismo exhaust, popcharger) last month for $19,000. It had 43,000 miles.

I think it will be hardest for you to get money out of that stereo. The wheels are nice. I'd say $22,000 would be pretty good.

My suggestion: Keep the car if you can afford it and buy a beater for a couple grand.

Thanks Kevin

Its not that I cant afford the Z anymore, its that I cant afford it along with my next project car, BMW 335i

PS - that is not my car above, but I plan on going with a similar look

I dont know if you guys have seen but the tuners have been doing some amazing stuff with the 335. With a simple $1300 "piggyback" ECU mod you are able to add an additional ~60whp/80wtq. These cars with this mod are dyno'ing at about 330whp/360wtq. 0-60 around 4.5 and 1/4 mile around 12.5-12.8 This thing is a beast!

Thanks bodaguy, that gives me a good reference. Maybe im best takin the wheels off and the stereo out. If i can get 20k for the Z (with perf mods) and then sell the wheels and stereo seperately that may be my best bet.

Now hopefully I can find all my stock stereo stuff... sigh..

We have a market place for selling cars. There is no difference between How much is the worth? and For Sale.

I would part it out too. Check KBB.com for your specifics (package, miles, location, condition) and use that for reference. Mod's almost never add value to a car... if anything it's the other way around unless the buyer really likes what you have done.... but even still you won't get out what you put in...

Good luck with your future endeavors... the 335i is a great choice. ( I would keep the Z but that's just me )

I too considered the BMW, My dad owned them for years and i always said i would get one of my own one day, He was even driving his pride and joy when he drove out of this world. But, i am going to wait untill i have a family and some serious cash and pop for an M5. Good luck on the 3 series and selling the z. I think you are making a wise choice if i had both of those cars i would sell the z to.

Cheers

Kevin

P.S. Those 335's are sick and honestly if I could afford one I would have on. I am so jealous right now

Sell the car and part out the mods. I think that's the best way to recuperate the most $$$

Check NADA/KBB for a stock 2003 350Z enthusiast model with 40,000 miles. That's what it's worth to most people. The $$$$ extras only help you if you sell it to a fellow 350Z enthusiast.

Hi there; how much would you charge for the JL Audio stealthbox (with subs), including postage to the UK?

Don't even hope for 20k. I see 04's and 05's around that price.
Definately don't trade it in for 15k, but I see only 17-18k MAX.

However, all the mods you have will get you back maybe 40% of their purchase price.
With wheels, it's a tossup. Either someone is hot for them, or you'll be selling them at 20% of retail to anyone.

Anyway, good luck!

Sell the mods separately and trade it in as bone stock. Dealer is not going to give you much for them anyway. Lots of individuals on this site that will pay you more than a dealer would. Just my $.02
