Default To Z or not to Z....

I am planning on buying a Z when I go home on leave, I am currently serving in Iraq, but I would love to know what to expect when I buy. What to look for and what model I should buy. I love the Grand Touring model but its hard to find and very highly priced, so do I buy an 06 or wait for the 07.
Guys be gentle with me.....

What do you think????

+1, The 06's quality has improved (by consumer reports standards) and the 07's will most likely improve on that. Also, with the attention to the engine it will lessen your chances of the oil consumption problem some have had!

I say 07 Touring

I recommend that you:

a. Set a budget.
b. Determine features that you need and those you do not.
c. Go shopping and find the 350Z that you want.
d. Determine the maximum that you are willing to pay. Make your best offer.

Here is the thing, I am putting alot down so any thing is in the budget when it comes to the 350z. But I hoping to keep at least 10 grand in the bank. I dont want to work for awhile when I get back from Iraq.

I just bought an 06 touring and the car is amazing. Me personally, I did have a budget. So I saved a little before the 07 came out. If you are not worried over saving a couple grand, wait.

My .02

The Base model is under-kill, the GT is over-kill and the Enthusiast model is just right. If you "need" leather seats and a Bose system, you can buy a Touring model. Resale-wise, I think that the Enthusiast model makes the most sense. At this time (12/06) though, I'd wait for an '07 or I'd order an '07.

You might be asking for problems with the 07 Z, just like every other new nissan that comes out it is going to have some sort of issues simple or not. Then again it is purely speculation on my part, it might be the best built z yet. Its your money you decide if you want to take a crap shot.

Save your $$$s and don't pay for a premium price on an '07. Look around and get the best deal on an '06 Base. With '07s coming, you should be able to get one for less than $25K. With the savings that you get going with an '06 Base instead of a new '07, you can buy a TT and have more power than you would have had with an '07. Besides, the front end on the '07s are FUGLY!
