You can use it for all kinds of things...mines in the range so it blinks when im beteeen 75mph and eighty so I know im not speesing to much...when it goes solid i know im needing to slow down! ....and yeah 6900 for power mode! Really like thay light
..set low for fuel eco and non native drivers

Mine is at 6300 rpm, I kept it at 2900 on my Base Z. Happened to be 80 mph, keep myself from speeding to much on the freeway.

3500 for normal driving. Ususally starts blinking if I get near 3k rpm, which is when I usually shift. And @ 3500 it doesn't really flash/stay on when cruising on the highway @ 80mph either.

Why do you need a shift light for normal driving?

Also have it set at 4500 to remind me to keep my foot off the gas, I ignore it most of the time though
