Same here except 4500 rpms. If I'm lead-footing it, I don't worry about the indicator. Having it set low reminds me NOT to lead-foot it too often.

Self-control FTW!

I currently have mine set at 6600.

I was curious though. Is there an actual benefit of shifting there as opposed to taking it to red line.

I guess to simplify my question, which would result in better acceleration? Shifting at around 6600 or just before red line? I've tried shifting at red line but it just seems like its taking forever and I'm not gaining anything. This is in an 06 with no mods BTW.

There is no benefit in short shifting.

I would have thought you'd set it higher considering it's a built block.
