24000 miles!!! on an 03?! take that car back there asap and (being polite of course) tell them to fix your sh!te pronto! PLUS you have the extended warranty, PLUS there's a tsb on light 'hazing'?? wtf, how are they not covered? If it really bothers you I would be nice, but just not leave til they fixed it. And if they still won't just go to a different dealer. Good luck!

Weither or not they are covered is up to the dealer you bring it to... If the "Cracks" are caused from an out side source (like spray with aresol can etc) then it will not be covered by warranty...

I have an 03 with a gold extended warranty. According to the dealer and nissan the headlights are not covered. Nissan replaced one as a good faith jesture after I spoke with them. Now the other headlight is cracked and the new one is cracking as well. Jason have there been any problems with the 06 headlights? A bit of info for the rest of you. You can buy or have just the housings replaced thus reducing the cost to you or nissan. Then you just transfer the bulbs and wiring. They run around $500 each like this.

The HID Bulbs are different in the 06 headlights... They are non-reflective tip type while the 03-05 Z are reflective tip...

It would be easier to figure out something when only one headlight is doing something, but when both, then its strange...

Like a paint defect... If it appears on ALL panels then NISSAN will assume that it is from a cleaning product being used... All of the panels would not be affected since they are all painted seperatly...

Jason the only thing I've done to the headlights is wash with car wash soap and wax. The bulbs are original. So are you saying that it's the design of the bulb that is causing the cracking of the lenses?

I was responding to the comment on swapping the bulbs over from the 05 housing to the 06 housings....

So what do think is causing this problem with the headlights? Where in the extended warrenty does it say the headlight housings are covered? I'd like to know so I can have them replaced again before the warrenty runs out.

I do not know what is causing it... I have not seen your headlights...

Here is a screen shot from the Warranty Flat Rate Manual that gives all the information about each specific parts coverage... This is a shot for the headlamp assemblies...

It states that your headlamps are covered (the housings that is) are covered for 3/36,000 or if you have a Gold or Gold Preferred Extended warranty...

Well, I have an 03 touring with about 41000 miles and the passenger side is in bad shape, the driver side isn't as bad. Kind of sucks, I payed alot of money for this car and my expensive *** headlights look like a piece of ****. If I get some time I will post some pics, just have to figure out how to post them. You can kind of see them is this pic

I'm dealing with hazing on my passenger side and I have a 03..... So here is what you do. I took mine up to a local paint shop and they were able to buff the hazing out and spray clear over the headlight. I haven't had any trouble since with it. As for cracking I don't have any just the haze. BTW I will never own a first model car ever again. I have had a lot of trouble with my 03!
