^^^hahaha. I did that for the past two weekends, people saw me twice, but I didn't care. What can I say, I love driving the Z. More than any Honda I owned before, and plus I have twice the HP/Tq.

I just resetted the MPG gauge, and I notice a big improvement. It was reading like 14.2 and as soon I resetted, a few moments later, I got 16.5, and it kept changing throughout my entire drive home from work.

I deliver in my car and I get around 18mpg or so with an average of only about 15mph. You guys must get on your cars a lot.

On the highway, Ive averaged as much as 28mpg in a 120mile trip. I have no complaints at all with fuel economy in the Z. Try driving a modded EVO around town and get good gas mileage though, and thats another story.

I get ugly gas mileage too.. I average about 17mpg, mostly city driving, but some freeway. No mods except for the popcharger. And I don't even mash on the gas much at all.

Indeed! You also have to think about gearing, the lower the rpm of the car the less gas you will use, so a higher gear is better for higher gas milage, EXCEPT when you have to open the throttle to the point that the amount of air going into the engine is greater than it would have been at a higher rpm with a more closed throttle. There is apoint where the engine is more effecient, and most car manufactures will do the math to match that effeciency peak with the air drag so you can get the highest fuel effeciency. Most cars (though not all) get the best fuel effeciency at 55 mph. I've notced that on the Z if I reset the MPG guage at 55 mph and drive tell it shows a number, I end up getting a little over 30 mpg, but if I do it at 65 I get almost 35 mpg, and if I do it at 70 I get closer to 30 mph. Meaning that for the Z, at least in my climate (high altitude, low humidity) I get the best mpg at 65 mph in the Z. Of course, if you're going into a head wind your mpg will suck, and if you have a tail wind it will be good! lol

Also, in the 70's when we had the previous "HOLY SHIZNIT! GAS IS EXPENSIVE AND RUNNING OUT!" crisis, there where alot of companies that did research on how to get better mpg. One of the large consensies on how to do it in a normal car was to skip gears. For example, starting out in 1st gear, not flooring it, but not going too light on the gas, then shifting to 3rd before reaching a high rpm (I usually do it around 3000 rpm in the Z) and then doing the same in 3rd (I usually shift out of third at 2500 rpm in the Z) then shifting to 5th, and in our car, then to 6th (which I do around 2200 rpm in the Z... of course this is when I'm not flooring it to put a smile on my face). In city doing this I've notice I can easily keep it above 22 mpg, I even got it above 25 mpg once when I did that for a whole tank of gas..... . but man is that boring! I'll just spend the money on gas to have the fun...
