Default Changing the oil of your 350z

Hey guys, do you have any advice for what synthetic brand of oil to use in your 350z and where I might find a DIY about changing the oil in a 350z?
Thanks.

Saki

Easy.
drive the car to warm up the oil
Drive car up on to ramps
Open hood
Pull off oil cap
Crawl under it
Find the oil pan
Locate the oil plug
Undo the oil plug
Drain all the oil from pan
Unscrew oil filter
Lube new filter with oil
Screw new filter in
Screw oil plug back into pan
Fill carr with oil
Put oil cap back on
Close hood
drive off ramps
Done

Check to make sure there is no oil under the car to insure you tightened the filter and plug

Cheers

Kevin

Do you have to use ramps or will a regular jack work? Had a bad experience with ramps in the past.

I believe you could use the jack, but i think the Z uses special plates to use the stands. And be carefull to put the jack in the right place or you will f up you floor boards.

Floor jack and jackstands work for me. And pull the big "shield" out from underneath - PITA to remove/install the 15 bolts but much easier to get to the filter and drain plug without making a mess. Amsoil is my choice (sorry davidv)

If you have to ask how to do an oil change, I don't think you should be doing it.

Hey, everyone has to start somewhere and an oil change is a good place to do it. As long as you put the drain plug back in, only hand tighten the filter, and make sure you remember to re-fill the oil (4.5 quarts) it's pretty hard to screw it up. Well, I guess the car could fall on you, but that won't hurt the car too badly

I just wanted to know if there was any advice or suggestions that any of you had in changing the oil. I've changed the oil in my car before (not my Z). I have the service manual and found a good pic on http://www.*********.com/zwiki/Service:Index for where to put the jack stands. Thanks for the humorous advice :-)

Cheers,
Saki
