Default The right RPM to shift at?

With the Z i have been shifting around 3000 RPM, in first gear normally 4000, what do you guys shift at?

Umm you may wanna do a Search lol it's been discussed a few times already.
It all depends on what your aiming for, max torque or max hp.

I shift at 2300...nothing beats 23 MPG

Here here. Sometimes I even shift at 2000, you save so much gas that way

I just dont want to hurt anything by shifting to low, also from first to second there doesnt seem to be that muchpower, anyone else feel the same?

Damage comes from shifting at a high RPM, not necessarily at a low RPM.

dude, what the **** are you talking about? and first to second has no power? are you in the right forum (seriously, just wondering)? take a look at a dyno graph and you can tell where the power is and what your best shift points will be (redline)

first off in what context are you asking this? are you saying you shift at 4k when you are racing? if so who told you to do that cause they are teh stupid.

shift at redline. that is all. always at redline. unless you are cruising around, then I normally shift at 2500-3k.

crusing i shift at 3k, racing i shift at 6500...on my dyno my peak hp was made at 6200(266whp) and then even out to 260 till 6500 then dropped.
