start searching far and wide, and you may be able to find a rental company that rents manual trucks or pickups or something, you can get the gist of it there, then perfect it on the Z, worse comes to worse you burn the clutch out in 10000miles, owell, get a racing clutch and move on.
I learned how to drive a stick in my 2000 M5. I was very gentle and picked it up after practicing in my driveway (on a significant incline). From a stop, I'd keep practicing till I could get the car to go forward and not roll back more than a foot. After 3 days of practice (total of 5 hours), it became second nature. Then 2 weeks later I was a pro =)
Now with the Z almost 2.5 years later I'm having trouble with the start. The throttle is SO DAMN sensitive that barely pressing it puts the rpms in the 2000-2500 range. About 50% of the time I can get a slow but good 1000rpm release. The shortshifter also is taking some time to get use to, as is the break-in period. Don't exceed 3500 rpm? That's kinda difficult, and I only have 200 miles on the odometer
