Yes in a way. If you can get good at shifting you can do almost anything in your car. you are not going to accelerate much by skipping gears. if you are going like 50mph in 6 gear and drop into third and plant your foot down on the gas and while releasing the clutch fast you will get a boost of speed. Practice first dude you are getting to far ahead of yourself.

Dude you have take advantage of every gear never skip a gear going up if you are trying to accelerate fast. Just because you can shift from 1st to 6th does not mean you are automaticly going to be at 100mph if you did this you will bog out and the car will stall. try crusing in 4th at about 40mph down thift to 3rd revup to 4600rpm poping the clutch out and giving it more gas at the same time will give you the acceleration you are looking for never EVER downshift more then a gear you will messup the tranny, unless you are at an appropriate speed for that gear.

when you shift from 2 to 3, just push up, rather than move it to the side... it automatically moves to the right as you move it up.

But if you miss 3rd and shift back into 1st at redline, you may be propelled into space... it's cool, try it!

You might be at a loss if you handed him your bike and he hands you nothing.

If you want to learn how to drive a stick, we can't just tell you. You need to practice on a real car. Reading won't help. It'll give you an idea what to do, but that's pretty much it. Oh btw, Playstation 2 will NOT teach you how to drive.

Question answered in post #8

My advice, you can ask a million questions but the best/only way IMO to actually learn is to get behind the wheel & practice. That or take some classes. GL!
