Kwik Kar Service Centers vs Courtesy Nissan
So over the last 3 months i have owned my car I have done tons of modifications to it, as well as a regularly scheduled service interval, all of these have been performed at courtesy nissan until today.
My story with courtesy is simple. The dealer treats me like crap because I'm 18. I took the car in over a month ago with several issues. My homelink mirror was dead, I needed a new clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate, needed an oil change, needed my exhaust fixed (unknown rattle) and needed my serpentine belt changed. After communicating all of this to my "service" advisor, he told me not to worry. i get a call a few days later, tells me it will cost near 3000 dollars to replace my clutch with the OEM clutch kit including the flywheel. Of course I did a lot of research and managed to talk the price down but had to haggle back and forth for days before it finally got done. Got the car back with the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate replaced. The exhaust had just cracked and needed to be welded back together at a bracket point, but he charged 500 to replace the entire center exhaust pipe that goes between the y pipe and the center muffler. no record of checking any of my other issues (like my mirror, my oil change, or my serpentine belt)
So the other day i stopped in at Kwik Kar service center to get a famous 15 minute oil change. and it was like night and day difference between the dealer. The manager came out and greeted me, asked me what i needed i told him just an oil change, and he said no problem. he asked ME to roll my car in, instead of trusting some lot attendent to move it. i left the keys in and made sure it was ok if i could stand and watch as they did it. of course he had no objections. they had a great assortment of oil, and i went with royal purple full synthetic. while he was in there, he topped off all my fluids, including wiper fluid. He reset my service notification in the navigation, and upped it to 5000 mile warning to replace the oil. Then he vacuumed the inside of my car entirely and gave my engine a once over to make sure everything was ok. He took one look at my serpentine belt and informed me i needed to have it replaced (no ****, thats what i told the dealer). he offered to order the part for me and do it. i said how much. he said 75 bucks. i assumed this meant 75 for the belt and then labor on top of that, but he said 75 bucks to do the whole thing. i called the dealer and they said they needed hte car for a full day and 400 bucks to do it. yet, kwik kar took 45 mins and 75 bucks and personally ensured me it was ok. i also got to watch him do it (big thrill for me so that i know it was done right)
got a free car wash out of it too at the local detail place. Everything about the experience was positive, it was cheap, it was done right, and the mechanics were all extremely friendly. they did a SPECTACULAR job, and far exceeded what i expected for even a 15 minute oil change. I will NEVER go to my nissan dealer again. EVER. for anyone that knows of a Kwik Kar center near them, i greatly recommend them, even if you just need a tune up or an oil change. they are a full service garage.
if you live in the dallas/plano/frisco area, its just north of spring creek and preston.
thanks for reading guys. i know its long.

I never, ever take my car to the dealership, they are consistently very poor at taking care of the customer and his car. I only take my car into a dealership if it is a warranty recall or suspected warranty issue. It really doesn't matter what brand dealership either, unless you are talking about Lexus. Lexus is expensive but they actually act like they give a damn.
You would think that the dealerships would get a clue and realize that there most important and profitable business is car servicing, but nah not the case.

In your post you said that you got the OEM clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate and got your exhaust welded back together. But in your mod list it says you have all Nismo, and a nismo cat-back. Which do you really have? Did you somehow get the dealer to upgrade you to Nismo parts?

i do own a lexus and they have a history of excellent service to me. the Nissan dealer however is not the same.
And in response to one of the other replies, after they attempted to charge me out the *** for my clutch replacement, i magically got almost a 2000 dollar discount on my ticket when i went to the cashier so i didnt end up paying the way he said i would.
im a bit worried, i just got a call out of the blue from my service advisor saying he had a question about my car. havent heard from him in over a month so now im beginning to wonder. oh well.
is it possible he logged on and figured out that i left negative feedback about the dealership?

That is where i get my oil changed, next to the QT and that car wash place.
Oh dear god that lady behind the counter is so freakin bangin...i thought it was that guys wife but it isn't...well i am not sure, but i was up there and some kid asked and i'm not sure he got a straight answer, one of the guys that changed my oil said it was his wife and opened the door and she said yeah...but i think they were jacking around.
Who knows, but she is really hot.
edit...i showed that guy how to reset the nav service display(the manager/owner or whatever)...the first time he just reset my hour meter, which kinda upset me....it had never been reset in the entire life of the car.
Who was your service advisor? I'm not much older than you, and the service advisor at Courtesy treated me with nothing but respect for me (so far anyway). At least 3 other members on here have similar experiences as me with Courtesy.
Also, it shouldn't have cost that much anyway, whether it was Nismo or not.
I'm getting my tranny replaced with new clutch kit (aftermarket) installed by them next week, so we'll see how that goes.

Yea, Kwik car is good.. They made a mistake on my car when filling coolant and didnt bleed using the screw.. So it kept over heating.. I called them and told them I brought it to nissan who fixed it and Kwik car gladly refunded me my Coolant money.. I also showed one of their mechanics that bleeder screw so no other Z owner would go through what i did.........

Trust, if I had known that was going to happen I woulda never taken it there.... But hey.. Nothing i can do but learn from it...... Stealership all the way!
I did not buy my car from a nissan dealership but i did go to one to ask priceing on some stuff, they treated me like **** , First i pull up and I walk in, a sales man comes up to me and says can i help you so I said yeah just looking for some prices, The next thing he says to me is so how old are you, I told him i was 19 and he says where do you work, I said listen I came hear to get priceing, Then he starts up about young kids owning cars like this, I said very loud Do you have a problam that I am 19 and own this car, Why are you being an ******* to me,Then i left and he just gave me a very mean look, I will never go to a dealer again for anything,
wow, GW has had to resort to changing oil.
Thnx jonb7007, the funny thing is I have changed my radiator fluid and never even touched that bleeder screw, yet have had no problems whatsoever. Should I just leave well enough alone?
