if it came with 3 fullsize stickers and 1 half size sticker id get it, cuz that means 35 hp from the stickers so if the chip doesnt work i know the stickers will.

read the description on it, talking about how the owner bought himself a $500 chip for his ford and said , HEY! I CAN DO THIS, BUT CHEAP AS HELL! it made me laugh, the story was pretty rediculous.

it clearly gives you 35 horsepower you dumb bastard.

no actually it is merely a resister in a little box. They usually have you tap into the IAT sensor or something stupid like that. Want the same feeling? Go cut the wire to your IAT sensor and walk away.

Some of them are used to confuse the computer into reading a lower air temp causing it to run richer. Can F a lot of things up.

I know someone who tried to get me to put in a Spoon performance chip for his "Mugen" motor, and claims he did lots of research and what not.

I told him it was his responsibility to do the research and asked him numerous times if he's sure this is what he wants to do since I only do the solder work.

After 2 hours of fiddling with the ECU, he finally tells me where he bought it from. He said he got it at a store for $10, and I asked him where because his instructions didn't make sense at all. He told me to type "www.ebay...." and it was over from there. I had to give him a 30min lecture about how useless this chip is and that the mod can render his car useless. So in the end I asked him "You know this mod isn't going to make your car go any faster and you risk not having a car to drive, right?" He gave me this dumb look and said "I know..." And I continued "If you knew about it, why waste money and my time on this mod and risk not having a car to drive?"

Gosh these ricers think they know what they're talking about, but they don't. He even paid me to mod his 300ZX foglights with my Luxeon III LEDs ($80 wahoo!) so he can strap them to his Civic. Stupid idea, but my lights are hella bright :-) Anyhow, his friend dropped it and killed the Luxeon, so he called me up asking me to fix it. Screw that... not my fault.

Did you not ask what it did? I contributed to the forum did I not? You didn't know something, I told you what it did.

If have any other questions on how cars/parts work, let me know.

Not everything on ebay is all bad. A buddy of mine bought a 600 dollar turbo kit for his S14 simply for the plumbing. We pieced it all together and he bought a new turbo. Worked like a dream. Hot rodding isn't ALL about money, but money certainly makes things easier.

Then again, I have a friend that bought an electric supercharger, and it was all bad. Told him not to do it. One of those cases where its worth spending the extra dough.

Too bad they probably don't know what the proper a/f ratio even is. And how tows with their Z, what a load of crap. People that buy this are retards and need to be stripped of their license to operate a car.

It would be interesting to watch exactly what it does with a wideband gauge.

No website either. The sad part is that this guy has sold quite a few of these. This is something that sounds perfect for one of those TV investigations.
