im new to the sight and i purchased my 350Z in october and my friend at school kept telling me his 1996 M3 which was stock would pull easy on my Z well he wrecked it before we got a chance to race it and all he talks about is how he COULD have beat it. So for peace of mind i was wondering what yall thought, would a 240 BHP with 236 torque with a curb weight of 3175 beat a stock 2006 350Z?

i ran my buddies 95 m3 while i was stock.... he had exhaust, intake, test pipes and a tune he didnt pull by very much maybe 2 to 3 cars but yeah maybe you might have got him if you know how to drive

Is that the E36 M3? I raced one from a stop. I had a fat friend, full tank of gas, didnt launch and i still beat him. They're not slow however, but slower than a Z. If i was alone with half tnak of gas, he would've been way gone. I passed him by 1 car at 85 mph (end of third)

I raced in SMG convertible m3 and beat it by about a car

 

i put test pipes on my Z and beat the NEW M3's, and by a full car length, and the kid was driving an SMG, sad, M3's are overrated, sexy, but overpriced and overrated, i'd take a Z over the M3 anyday. for $70k i could have one of the nicest Z's in the world.

 

 

The new ones are not much faster than a Z, are you kiding? The E36 matches up well with a Z, I think it is a drivers race with a little edge to the Z. The E46 M3 would walk a Z. If you beat a SMG vert he was playing with you.

 

M3's are over-rated, that is funny. They seat 4 and beat most 2-seat sports cars in their price range and above.

 

Depends if the Z is stock or not.. E46's usually pull hard on the top end, but with a lil help of the good ol aftermarket, there's no more pulling.. Good ol tylerdurden no longer gets walked by E46's..
