Default Touring model or Enthusiats

Hey guys im goin to by the 2007 350z but i cant really decide whether i should get the enthusiats model or the touring. The only think i really want that the touring model has is the leather seats. I dont care about the bose systems because many people on this forums says its terrible. I would rather save $3000 and get the enthusiats and by the leather covers and put them myself.

I would appreciate all over your opobions. Also do you guys know where I could purchase the leather seats covers?

thanks

Sounds like you've already made up your mind. You also get heated seats and VDC with Touring, FYI.

There are several places to get decent leather seat covers, though I've not seen any that, when installed, make the seats look as good as the factory leather seats.

Enthusiast is a good deal but if you've got the extra cash might as well go with the touring. you're getting a lot for your 3k.

I love my 2004 Touring....Heated seats are sooo nice!

The Bose system isnt bad at all. For a stock system it works very well and serves its purpose. I wouldnt call it crap though.

I am debating this same issue. Going to order this month as well. I, on the other hand don't like leather seats, too slippery and will make your butt sweat, especially in the summer with the old legs suctioning to the seats. No thanks. Heated Seats seem an unecessary luxury as well. Just warm the car up and make sure you don't forget to put on pants.
As for the stock stereo system, you can get a much better headunit, replacement speakers and a powered-sub for less than a grand (lookin at the Alpine ida x001...IPOD, MP3, Bluetooth and Sirius ready, releases in April. So for me the Enthusiest seems a better deal. I can finance a much cheaper car and spend the extra on a better sound system and maybe a Nismo exhaust upgrade after I've had it for a year or so.

I personally dont like leather seats because i live in Texas. The weather here is 100 degree in summer and 30 degree in winter.

I had the same decision when i was looking around for mine. In the end it came down to this:

- i don't like leather, too slippery for my narrow butt.
- I didn't need VDC, just drive slow & carefully. and you're going to turn it off when you want to have fun anyway.
- I planned on changing the stereo anyway, so Bose would have been a waste of money
- i was going to change the wheels anyway. waste of money.

My only regret is that i wanted the power seats.

"I would rather save $3000 and get the enthusiats..."

You've answered your own question correctly, imo.

How many times a day do YOU move your seat?

Does your body dimensions change daily?

In slippery situations the VDC is very valuable, but if you're thinking automatic, scratch that(VDC) as they don't have it in Touring. I also went Touring for the leather seats, not for looks or feel, but because they last so much longer. I would have gone through 3 interiors if I hadn't had leather on my last car. If those 2 things aren't important to you, definitely go Enthusiast. For me Touring was my only feasible option. After market leather costs about the same and you don't get the power nor the heat, nor the resale.

I wasn't sure if the Gran Touring auto had VDC, so I limited it to Touring. But now I know. Thanks.

Has anyone verified at a dealer that the AT GT has VDC?

Nissan/USA website leaves room for doubt.
