Ok guys here are my thoughts..any opinions are welcome.
Had an 04.5 CS performance and loved it. No problems what so ever with it.
Traded it for an avalanche however it was sold, because being in Iraq, i didnt need it sitting at home not being driven, so.... Here are my thoughts.
Im looking at buying a high mileage 03-04 model z, and doing a new built motor, TT, and upgrading the brakes, suspension, wheels, possible axles and tranny. I will probably do the interior later, but concentrate on the performance and do it right the first time, clean...
To me this seems to be more practical than buying a new model and then adding the upgrades. It seems better to buy an older model and "mold" it the way i want it , instead of settling, per se, because most of the money is going to the monthly payment.
Its just a thought, but i will soon be in the position to do something. Any comments welcome.. <be nice

I know that now, but at the time my situation did not allow that
I think you've definitely got the right approach. I've seen a few 03 350s going for sub 20K in my area. Definitely stay away from Salvage title vehicles...insurance companies tend to not like these cars.
When you look for a Z keep it under 50k miles. But at least you get a second chance to see what option you want in your Z this time around. Like...do you want a Performance again or would you rather go with a Base model that doesnt have the TCS or VDC?

good advice..i am looking around the 30-50K mile range. I found an 03 touring model with 32000 miles for 20K on the online auto trader. I figured if i was going to replace the motor and all the components though, even a higher mileage model would be acceptable. Am i wrong in this theory. What are the major things i need to look for still, if im looking at replacing most of the important parts, i.e. motor, exhaust , suspension etc..
Thanks again guys for your input..this really is important for me to research and your opinions, especially those with 03-04's.
Look forward to hearing from you..
Sandy
