Must be a low sales month, it's a ploy to get you in the dealership so they can start to work you over for a new ride.

Considering the crap my car's been through with the dealership, I don't think they'd want to buy it back ;-)

I get a letter offering to buy back my car usually once every 2 or 3 months from at least one of the local dealers. They just want you to trade in your car for a new one, as others have said.

Yeah, when I had my '97 Sentra I got one of those. I checked it out and the sales guy even went as far to say as they'd give me $8k for it.

I sell cars... trust me this is garbage!! Jan and Feb are the slowest months in the car biz... it's just a salesman going through a "Galley" list of people who bought or leased vehicles... it's usually the lease list and usually about a year or so before it's due... it doesn't even matter what they're low on in inventory or any of that... they just want to sell some cars and the phones aren't ringin and the sales managers are hammering on the salesmen. Luckily I work at a mammoth dealership and don't have to deal with that old school crap... buy back = $3k under kelly tradein for yours if you're gonna do invoice on theirs... but if you get in there and drive the new one... "Take mental ownership"...
