Nissan Buyback

Nissan Buyback
I just got a call from Nissan saying that they wanted to buy back my car. I told them that I doubted they would be interested in my asking price because of the fact that I have $15K+ into it. He gave me his email address, asked for a list of my mods and told me that he would put an offer together.
Anyone else get a similar call?

dealerships do this ALL the time. They run low on certain models of used cars that sell well and look through their data base and call people.

Marketing scam. Seems like every month or so, somebody posts here that they got a call, letter, etc. from Nissan offering to buy back their Z. The catch is that you have to buy a new one and you're actually trading in your old one.

I received a letter from my Nissan dealer that they will sell me '07 at invoice and give me an amazing deal on my '04.
I will talk with them (just to kill my time) during my next oil change - 700miles left.

If they actally give me a halfway decent return on the mods, I might go for it. Not so often that you can get any money for a highly modded car. It may be worth a shot.
The only problem is the buying a Nissan part -- I have had my eye on a twin turbo C5 for a while now.

Your Z is still too new. They go down their spreadsheets of customers who have owned or leased their cars for over 3+ years.
