You are pretty brave to admit that you took the door off of your own car.

wow, you know.. I've imagined that happening soo many times esp. when parking on a busy LA street with cars whizzing by as I opened the door to get out of the Z...imagine if a car just swiped my door off while I was trying to get out
..... my imagination now has actual photos to work with.
ouch, sorry about your door, but you'll probaly look back and laugh in a few months.

Free lambo door mod.
j/k dude...
I did the same thing with my last car, while cleaning it in the garage. Luckily I stopped it before bending the hinges, but I messed up the door skin a little.
You might be able to sell that door panel on here, btw.

Electronic throttle strikes again... It can fool you as it can "rev-up" for the first minute or two you run the car. I think that is what the "gotch ya" was in this case. --Spike

Wow!
The first thing that came to my mind was that scene at the gas station in Tommy Boy.

Before you drive the Z any further I would check for the quart of motor oil under the hood. Don't want that thing blowing open on the open road.

A friend did the exact same thing to a company car.
She did not know that telephone poles don't move when hit by vehicle doors.
