Question Modding an 07

I haven't been able to find out much information on modifications for an 07. I am guessing that most of the mods are still in testing stages so you can't buy much of anything as of right now. From what I have read here on the boards everybody seems to think that the intake and exhaust on the HR are great the way they are and any kind of mod would actually result in a loss of power. I am interested in lowering the car a little bit, but I can't find any information on setups that have been tried on an 07 yet either. I guess I should just save up my money for a couple more months and wait for some products to hit the market? It's not that I feel like the 07 is underpowered or anything, I'm just starting to get that urge. You all know what I'm talking about.

gotta be patient man!! i'd recommend saving now, once companies finish their R&D stages, you can buy all the mods you want.

Go to your local doctor and be prescribed something for that. There are creams and such…usually topical in nature.

the 07 is begging for a 3.9 final drive. Someone in the drag section trapped around 105 I think, bone stock with only 1100 miles, and a bad 60 ft. time.

Maybe there is some power in a spacer or lower manifold. The exhaust probably has some power left. Car did get headers though from the factory.

That's why you shouldn't have bought an 07.

I planned on modding the hell outta my car, so I bought an 05 for cheap.

Hey now... I shouldn't have bought an 07? That's taking it a little too far I think. I don't plan on "modding the hell" out of it. I just wanted some more information on 07 mods. I love the 07. I waited 4 years for the 07. Don't get me wrong. I think the HR is amazing. Yes, I will be patient. I promise. I will stick to a window tint for now.

Simple bolt-ons on previous Z's will not make it any faster than the 07. You will need turbo and/or nitrous.

Dont worry, Its just jealousy. Get suspension first man. I got Hotchkis springs and sways and am LOVING it. Car handles alot nicer. In around last november, a major after market tuner already had an 07 there for testing. Something will come soon. Who knows, with all the enhancemants in the 07, whos to say that the mods for the 07 wont see more gains than the 06?

I test drove an 07 yesturday.

My thoughts:
Wheels and tires would be my first mod...more importantly tires. I couldn't hold traction in 1st or 2nd. I think I scared the sales man to death.

Oh, I would also figure out some way to stiffen up the clutch. It feels lighter than my 97 dodge neon(read not sports car like at all).

The suspension would be in my sights next. It felt as bouncy as my 03 with half way blown out stock tokicos and tein springs. Well I guess a little better but nothing compared to my tokico d specs and tein springs.
