unfortunately, that's probably about 3-4k worth of damage... unless your insurance company is truly bogus, they won't fault you for the accident... in hindsight, you should have immediately contacted the police to file an accident report... this, along with their investigation (haha), would have been sufficient to file a no fault claim... this would fall under your comprehensive and not collision... and they can't up your rates for that...
now, you're kinda behind the 8 ball... either you file and take your chances on an rate hike...or pay the 3-4k out of pocket...

as far as the price to fix it i have alot of hook ups i already asked one place and they told me just for the body its a grand. for now im not going to even touch the body. im just going to get the mechanical parts looked at for now. and possible fix those. its just that this happend at a bad time for me because im in a icky finacial situation.

The turned steering wheel thing just happened to my car. I didnt hit anything but some of the crumple zones in my rear suspension are well crumpled. My VDC and SLIP light both turned on as well but it drove fine on the way out to the dealership. And as for damages 1500 for parts + labor so around 2200.
I think you will end up paying more for the damages then the increase in your insurance in the long run.

^^ Looks as though the guard rail did its job, but unfortunately also did quite a job on the side of your car. Bummer. You handled the car and the situation well. I suspect your driving skills saved you and your gf.
Just curious: VDC on? --Spike
