Default Yet another crooked dealer story

Hey all,
I wanted to let you know about my experence at my local Nissan dealer recently. In addition to my Z, I have a 98' Pathfinder. It recently needed new front struts, so I had the dealer install the new OEM struts about 2 months ago. All was going well untill I noticed some crunching noises coming from the front suspension recently. I crawled under the front and realized that the dealer re-used the old rubber strut boots on the new struts. Well, the wrench monkey who installed the struts never bothered to install the OLD boots correctly, and the driver side boot was ripped in half. So a bunch of dirt and water and crap had coated the strut shaft and contaminated the strut seals. So now my Driver's side strut is ruined after only a few months.

I was absolutely furious, and went back to the dealer to see what their excuse was. The service manager (Dave) told me that not replacing the boots was "Normal procedure"..... I say BS. The sevice tech woulden't even look at the struts, saying that the boots weren't actually nessesary, and the the strut seals will be fine. (Even though they are visibly contaminated and the stut is making crunching noises).

When I demanded that they at least replace the rubber boots, they told me it was a $380 service charge to do so (even though the 2 boots cost $20 wholesale)... They won't even acknowledge that the stut is ruined!

Stay away from this dealer. (Nissan of the Eastside, in Bellevue WA). I am tired of their excuses and lies. A few months ago, the idiot wash guy even put a huge gouge in my paint on my Pathfinder, and tried to cover it up by using touch up paint on the scratch. When I confronted them, they denied making the scratch.

Here's the best part: I dont even own any touch up paint, and asked them how the scratch "magically painted itself". The service manager just started making more excuses, and pretended not to see the touch up paint when I was pointing my finger right at it, and it was clear as day... *sigh*

One night, put on a ski mask, and make one quick run through the lot and key every car in ur path. That'll teach them. Dont forget the ski mask part, dealers have cameras in the lot.

Actually as much as I hate the fact that they don't replace the rubber boots the dealership is not 100% at fault for not replacing them. Most shops will replace the boot because the new shocks will come with replacements. If they don't they do not have to replace them for free. They should have suggested to replace them when they inspected your car.

I fk'n hate that dealership too. A bunch of BSing, no good, pushy salesmen and a bad service department in general. The way I saw them washing their cars just makes me wanna throw up. I'll never service my car there.
