Manners have never been my strong suit. No offense intended, just crossing my fingers for the spoiled youth of tommorrow.
Here is some nice advise just for you.
Sell the Z
Buy a sensible used car that can handle the snow
Use the rest of the money to buy books, classes and school supplies.
Get a good education and job
Buy a Z again knowing you have worked hard for it and thus will apprciate it more.
Better?

Of course... who wouldn't, But my parents are more sensible than that. They spent money on me and my 2 brothers college and bought us our first beaters, mine was a 72 Ford F150. I just find it odd that a single mother with 4 kids would buy a Z for the 17 year old.
Hardly envious of this kids situation. I didn't like it at the time, when I was 17, but now that I'm all grown up, in my 30's, I respect my parents more than ever and they made the right decisions no matter how lame it seemed at the time.
