350Z will be a rocket!
I just drove a g35 sedan, duh. I went to the dealer looking for info. on the coupe, and he said lets take a ride in the g35, ok.
Me and my friend and the sales rep. got in (about 800-900lbs. of people) This car flat out wants to fly. 1/3 down on the pedal and it pushed me back into the seat. latter i had it pushed down about 1/2 way and took it up to 6 grand, geeeeeeee's this car is fast. I then put it in manual mode, this is very very nice! Almost no lag in rpm's. i was very impressed with this car, not to mention the extra 500-600lbs. I was carrying around!
The Z will have and extra 27 horses, wow!
If you have any chance to test a g35 to see how it goes, by all means DO IT! It might just make you plunk down the cash NOW, and get the G35 Sedan. Plus nissmo aftermarket parts are under warrenty?...... what a deal, i wonder what a chip will do to this monster! Most car companies dont warrenty after market parts, I read where a guy did a chip in a s4 and blew the turbos, audi basically said tough sh*ift,,,, your lose.
Im sold on either the 350z, g35c or even the sedan after this test drive.

Yeah, on a turbo, you are really increasing boost, S4's have a pretty low boost setting (maybe 8-9 psi) and the potential to go to 14+ (1 bar) on race fuel.... NA, maybe a few HP. There is still not a chip for the 97+ Maxima, so don't expect to see much, as far as chips go, for the Z.

Thanks for the report Silvz5! Now I want to go test drive the G35. I haven't yet because I've been afraid I'd fall in love with it and want a coupe instead of a Z.
I myself like the interior of the G35 MUCH more... and the car almost looks the same. Engine wise that difference in HP can be made up... soit is a tough call.
JmanG35 doesn't have the same ring to it as JmanZ does though.... so I think I'm safe for now.
JmanGTR though... heh heh heh.... I wish!

I to was in love with the coupe at first. When I went to NY for the autoshow I actually spent more time with the G35C than with my pre-ordered Z. Whats really nice about the Z though is that if you stop in 3rd while using the manumatic it automatically resets itself back to first. The best of both worlds....

Good report. I have been stuck in the high pounds per HP cars for an eternity. The nice sports cars were always too expencive, or else too american (sigh)
My fastest car was probably the 95 maxima 3.0 V6 manual. I don't remember the hp but it was like 200. That car moved, but I am not a big fan of high hp front wheel drive.
Anyway I now have a 4500 pound 215 hp minivan, a similar weight/power SUV and a 190 hp sedan. My one "fun" car was a 138 hp Z3 (too slow) don't know why I got that, but I was on a budget.
I am so looking forward to having a little power on hand.
