Default No Front License Plate hassle percentage??

Hey guys I'm finally taking out the Z tommorrow with insurance (its been garaged since I got it due to snow). I really don't want to put in the front license plate (don't want to screw holes in the bumper). I was just wondering how many of you guys get hassled by cops for not having a front license plate on?

I have not been hassled in Texas. If you ever need to temporarily install it, just zip tie the plate to the grille. Just keep the plate in the Z and if you get pulled over, tell the cop that you are in the process of scheduling an appointment with the dealer to drill a hole on the bumper so you can install the plate.

just get a z bracket. it clamps on to the grill and no holes are drilled. or the stillen one, it screws into the tow hook.

Mine cae with a metal bracket that comes threw the grill, I was just about to take it off today because I like how the Z looks with out the front plate and I saw that they cut a 2 inch piece of the top grill to fit the bracket so if I did take it off there will be a small piece or the grill missing, damit

I have driven in Ohio for almost four years with almost no hassle at all.
A statey pulled me over about a month ago and ticketed me for $85.00.
I really don't think he was concerned about my license plate but he saw me flying down the interstate in the opposite direction. He didn't have me on radar so I think he just used my license plate as a reason to stick it to me.

If you live in a state that requires a front plate, most likely you will be hassled by the cops. Maybe a warning ticket the first time that you are stopped. Then a fine for each stop. After a couple of fines for no front plate, cops get a little angry. They might just be pissed enough to impound your car.

You sure that they cut it or is the piece that comes out for the tow hook missing? That piece seems to come up missing on a lot of Z's. To the OP - Ohio LEO's are brutal about the plate, at least around Columbus. I used to get looks from the Staties on 71 too - finally put it behind my Grille-Tech grill. Not even mounted so when I go out of state, I can slip it right out.

i dunno but the tickets i got weren't from regular cops..they were from parking enforcers. i guess in theory they could give window tint tickets but then again they would have to measure it.

Driven in Ohio with the Z for just over a year with no front plate. No hassles yet!

I never had a front plate on my old car either for 8 years. No hassles with that one either!

Guy in my club has driven his Z32 for years without a front plate - bought a Z33 late last year and got pulled over in Powell last week for no front plate. did not get a ticket, but only because he hit a 'possum a week or so before and ripped up his front lip so he used that as an excuse. Said cop was NOT very friendly
about it. I got warned in the Hilliard HS parking lot - no ticket either, told him my grille was on order (which was true) but he did say you know, it gives us a reason to pull you over. Don't need that hassle.

In Colorado we are required to have one. I didn't have one on my RX8 for two years and didn't have a problem. I don't plan on putting one on the z either.

I even got pulled over for speeding and the cop never said a word.

Haven't had one on for about 8 months. Been pulled over once for not having it, but let off with a warning.

Still haven't heeded to the warning and don't feel like putting holes in my new bumper.

I've had my Z for 4 years, Never had a front license plate on it. I've recieved 2 tickets so far. I pretty much consider it the "no front license plate" tax.

I've been pulled over twice for not having a front plate on my Expedition; but maybe I was being harassed for driving a Ford? Who knows.....

But lately, I don't have a plate on either my X or the beloved Z.... so far no problem here in the city of angels (Los Angeles)....
