Default Am I being too picky?

Hi, I am new to this site. I've been a huge fan of the 350Z ever since it came out. I've been looking in the classifieds now for about 2 months but I cant find the perfect one. I want either black or DB, 6spd, leather seats, <20k miles for less than $22k. Does that sound reasonable? I've passed on a few deals because of them not having leather or having high miles. Just wondering if I am being too picky. I've thought about adding leather down the road, but then I lose the heated option.

Thanks for any input.

If you're that picky you're obviously not gonna be happy if you don't get what you want. Wait it out.

Welcome. You have several factors working for you, and several against:

1. Utah is way at the bottom of the list in 350Z popularity. Supply is low.
2. About half of all 350Zs are silver. Neither black nor blue are as popular.
3. Leather means the Touring model, and the Touring is the most popular 350Z.

So you have several choices. Include silver in your choices. Shop long distance (southern California).

Default be picky

i got my z about 5 weeks ago, and i was looking on the web and locally until i found the right car. i wanted an 05 yellow touring with a manual trans. i found one in florida with 17,000 miles for $24,000. i was very pleased as this combination is really hard to find. the car has 19" wheels. i was a little pissed when i saw the car though as it had a huge scratch on the door. the dealer told me it was in excellent shape, which it was except for the 4 small dings and the huge scratch. $500 to have the door painted, and $150 for the dings. i am now very happy. it was a little stressful, but i now have the exact car i wanted. good luck

I wanted the PPW coloured one but had a tough time finding one. I came across a SilverStone with the Burnt Orange interior and it was love at first sight.

You may just surprise yourself

I had an EXTREMELY hard time finding mine too. I wanted a silver 2004 with less than 80,000 miles on it. I knew that wouldn't be too hard but it got tricky when I decided it had to have xenon lights, 18" wheels, 6 cylinders, and a 3.5l engine. Talk about some searching. Turns out I never found one and instead I took this advice....

I suggest you do the same.

I don't know if it is asking too much, but it will definitely be a challenge.

Suggest that you look into buying an enthusiast to save a couple bucks and just have the leather put in...lots less if the touring options are not that important to you.

You should be picky and get what you want...you have to drive it. If you don't like it, it's not worth whatever you pay.

Screw the leather, if you find a good deal w/out leather take it. A good upholsterer can cover the seats with leather for around $600.

+1.

Also, you can add aftermarket heated leather seats if you want.

you're just looking in the classifieds?

try ebay, cars.com, autotrader.com, craigslist.com there are tons more

i bought my z a week and a half ago, 03 silverstone touring 6mt with burnt orange seats with under 7k miles on it. If i wouldve been extrmely picky i would have waited till i found that combination in 04.5 but the pros just outweighed the cons.

I even drove 200 miles to get it and i couldnt be happier.

when i was searching i had practically every car sales website bookmarked and i would search all of them everyday to see if there was an update.

If you know what you want, wait it out and buy it exactly how you want it. Once you finally find/buy it you'll forget about how long it took.

good luck in your search.

Depends on if you're willing to wait. I don't think you're too picky. I was as picky or maybe even more....it took me months to find exactly what I wanted...but I DID find it and couldn't happier. Not gonna skimp on what I want on an amazing car like the Z.

I got the base model, and even though I wish I would have got the Enthusiast, I am still happy. So yea, it was worth what I paid.

I tried looking for some used Z's just for fun to see what was out there. Couldn't seem to find a blue Z no matter where I looked ( I own a beautiful DB Z )

Peopel just don't like ot get rid of their DB Z's which is understandable since they are the best color EVAR!
