not a problem...i feel my auto is just as fast as similarly modded Z's since you always get a perfect shift

just hate the shift lag. cud be quiker! i know stillen makes the upgrade but don't have the duckies rite now. hey , question, you ever tried to down shift using the manual mode from second gear to first gear rounding a corner ? mine goes int no mans land and doest know where the hell it is, like the traction control kicks in for a sec. then jumps into first is that a safety feature? i mean the rpms are not too high ?

Why do members consistently ask for numbers that we cannot measure? We can measure ET. Go to the dragstrip. I would be interested in what you run not the times quoted in some magazine.

right! but you know what? before i street race , which light to light is usually close to 60mph i like to kinda reflect on what the 0-60 times are for the car next to me before i embarass myself. it helps a little.

No usually the tiptronic waits until your rpm range is pretty much as low as it can get before it downshifts. Usually mine shifts down through the gears when I am going right into a dead stop. From a high gear, it has to shift before it reaches the low rpm band because it "prevents stall." When put in the sportmode, from my understanding, it's like a manual but it's doing the clutching for you.

From what I understand with manuals, you're not supposed to downshift to first from any gear. Its just a gear to get you going from a stop. You can make a stop leaving it in 2nd gear. Another thing Ive observed with the Z's auto-manual, is that it won't downshift for you. The only time it controls it, is when you make a complete stop it will automatically put you in first. You must be pretty high in the rpm's in 2nd gear making that corner, if you're getting that hesitation.

Seriously. A lot of people have trouble breaking into the 13's with the Z in the beginning which is like a 5.5 in the 0-60.

But its such a crappy stat to measure performance by. To each their own though.

So your saying that the auto Z is a 5.3 0-60. I think thats kind of generous for a manual Z much less an automatic which i am pretty sure is not as fast to 60 as 6MT. First because straight up the auto tranny weighs more and doesn't shift as fast as a manual can with a professional driver.

How many shifts does it take to get to 60 in the 6speed?

Im at 65 or so when i hit third so i can do it in second and thats a real easy fast shift from 1-2.
I have a 6-speed.

i dont think autos are hitting 5.3

5.3 is the fastest time ive ever seen quoted for a stock Z in a mag and it was a manual. stock auto Z's are not hitting that number, stock manuals with out an awesome driver arent either. it's more like 5.6, 5.7 but were talking 1/10ths of seconds and like someone else said its not a great measurment
