OK.. I tried putting my arm in the window and raising it. It pinned my arm for 4 seconds before lowering automatically.. If it would have been a child's neck, it would have broken it easily before dropping. I was wearing a thick, leather jacket and it really hurt before the window dropped. I was almost ready to drop the window with my other hand.. I now have a nice bruise.. So.. I would not want to see the option of raising the windows from the remote.. It is just too dangerous.. Period..

Have you guys tried putting pressure on the window with your arm AS IT COMES UP instead of letting it get stuck between the door frame and windowafter it has crushed your arm?

I don't see the difference between being within the range of a keyfob/raising the windows and sticking a key in the door/raising the windows. It's just more convenient. I don't think it's more dangerous.

Just read in today's paper about an 11 year old from Indiana who died when the window on his fathers car was raised by accident and crushed his windpipe. Even with the auto featue to drop the window if it hits an resistance, it can still kill a child or even an adult very easy before dropping.. Are you people really that lazy to walk over to the car, put the key in the ignition and raise the window?? I don't think this was a "Z' but it did happen..

By the way, when I tried the experiment with my window, I could not hold the window down with my arm. The window pushed my arm up until I hit the roof line and it took 4 seconds for the window to reverse.. More than enough time to kill you..

I'm not that lazy. I forget all about the "added convenience" of the ability to lower the window with the keyfob anyway. ah well...
That's sad what happened to that kid in Indiana, though.

Ok guys, there is a mod available that can be installed in the drivers side door that will let you raise the windows with the OEM fob. I have it installed, it will even lock the doors for you about a minute after you turn the ignition on.
