Default Redline Owners

Hey guys. Looking to get a Z(03-4.5) in two months or so, the Redline color has grown on me a lot. I have two questions for Redline Owners.

1) Do you daily drive your Redline?
2) How much attention do you get from the local law enforcement?

To answer your second question - no, red cars don't get ticketed at a higher rate than other colors.

I have an 06 Enthusiast Redline. It is my daily driver cuz it's my only car (im 20 yrs old going to college, workin full time) & i dont really get bad attention from cops/the law. As long as you drive accordingly you should be ok. But that color stands out more than others, so just drive safe and be careful and u should be good. U also get attention from the ladies, so its all good.

1. Every day more or less. and it's always parked outside.

2. Not much, except when I desevere it. I heard all kinds of red cars get hassled a lot stories but maybe I have just been lucky, or maybe it's because I'm in my late 30's. Dunno

I'm a former Redline Z owner. Plenty of attention, but not from Law Enforcement. Mine wasn't a daily driver, but that's because it was really too low to go anywhere I wasn't very familiar with.

I've never ran into issues with cops giving special attention to my car because it's red. I think that's an old wives tale that isn't so true anymore.

I drive mine everyday and have never been pulled over and I drive pretty fast in the interstate daily and never been pulled over. I dont really think color plays a major part like most people think. I've pretty much owned all red cars and have only been ticketed for speeding once or twice.

thanks guys.

Then I am for sure going to get a Redline.

Maybe a wive's tale also but; Does it cost more to insure a red sports car?

Is there any extra special care needed for the Redline paint? I heard horror stories from my friend's evo turning somewhat pinkish. hahaha.

If you drive fine why worry if they look at you or attract attention. I get a good deal of cop attention...then again our city is being hard on any car that is an import and that looks like it my be a "racer."

Red RX7, Red 944 Turbo S, Red 350Z. I have always loved red when it comes to my cars. I got one speeding ticket in the RX7 when I was following my (now ex) wife home and the cop pulled me over. I was behind her doing the same speed...but he got me. Go figure lol.

No tickets of any kind since (knocking on anything that even resembles wood at this moment), and with what I've done with the Z..it's quite loud over 4 grand or so.

I still get a lot of looks. Idiots would want to show me how fast their dump trucks are..which I take as a compliment, and people yelling at me from car to car, or coming up to me to tell me what a nice car I have. Redline FTMFW!!!!

What makes your Z so loud?

Do your headers make that much diif with the Nismo and Pop charger? I have the Nismo cat back and PC'er and I don't think it's loud at all. sounds great in a tunnel but not loud.

^^^With the mirrors yes they do bleed. My nice white buffing pads look like used maxi pads after I get done with them. I think ill get some carbon covers though eventually.

I got pulled over in my redline doing 15 over the limit in a residential area.

The lady cop was like you know with a fancy sports car like this you wont get much sympathy from cops, but becasue I had some Wendy's in the car she was like I dont want your food to get cold so have a good night, no joke.

I think what really saved me though was that I knew I was speeding when she tagged me so I just pulled over and turned the car off...

I had a green prelude and I was clocked at a little over 90 in a 65. While my roomate a few car lengths behind me was doing 84-85mph and the cop pulled him over- yes his car is a Red integra. Cops are going to give the most politically correct answers when it comes to those articles, the fact is no matter what your car color, if you drive like an idiot, you deserve to be pulled over and you probably WILL be pulled over. Truth is red is a very vibrant color, just like bright blue or yellow. So WHEN you do something wrong, pretty easy to spot you haha. It shouldn't affect your decision on purchasing the Z, the car in general is very sporty and easily noticed. As far as the redline color goes, I love it, always wanted a red sports car- wont look back.

I'm not sure what the answer is. A combination of cat back, headers, spacer, intake, MREV 2? I was one lane over from a Mustang GT and I had my window cracked. At WOT I could not hear his V8. I asked my friend who was behind me if that wasn't a V6 Stang and he assured me that it was a GT and not a coupe. I gave the mechanic who installed my headers first drive after the install. I told him to open her up so I could hear what I paid for. I could hear her screaming 5-6 blocks away. It was a beautiful thing.
