2 great write up comparisons. Thank you both for the time. I have no complaints at all about my '06. When I drive agressively it is always on the backroad twisties and I too am almost always above 4500 rpm. I love it. Who wouldn't want more horspower though and the raves of the '07 tell me the Nissan elves are constantly at work.

Well, I call bs. The HR has a better torque curve than any previous Z engine and it doesn't lose torque to the other engines anywhere in its powerband.

your complaints about the 06 sound like 'user error'.

There will always be something nicer coming out each year, so just be happy with what you have.

What do you guys think a revup with Mrev2/Spacer will do against a Stock 07?

I had the MREV2, iso-thermal kit and 5/16ths spacer on my 06 revup before I decided I was going to trade it in. It will not get you to the same peak power that the HR has, nor will it get you super low-end torque, but I found that it essentially moves your power curve down by 1k RPMs. So that boost in torque that you feel at 4k with the revup, you'll now feel at 3k RPMS...

WORTH EVERY PENNY! I put it onto my wife's 06 revup when I took it off of mine.

So, essentially, it makes the same or slightly better torque between 3k and 4k RPMs. it makes the revup feel like the HR does between 3k and 4k.

Not enough good things to say about that kit... Best bang for the buck mod you can do to revup engine.

You have to imagine a revup with the mrev spacer and test pipes netted around 264 thats HR dyno territory with slightly less tq its def closing the gap with that much HP the race will be tighter .

the thing that u have to be prepared for is the top end. As long as your mods blessed your top end thats the main difference. They have the bes tof both worlds so...just be prepared for that 3 gear 4.5 k 80 percent of there power right there band. LOL

Peak yes. But is the whole powerband close to the new HR? Probably not.

It sounds like you just had a bad 06 model.
