Anyone stupid like me?
I'm sure this is a dumb question for this forum but...
Wherever I go in my car, I park the absolute furthest possible away from other cars, preferably in a spot that only one other car can park next to me if the lot was completely full.
I even drove all the way to Crate and Barrel in downtown Dallas, and drove home because I couldn't find a suitable spot away from other cars.
Please tell me y'all do the same thing...

I choose my spots carefully, but I dont abort the trip if a perfect spot cant be had.... far away isnt always best anyway, less traffic, and people can mess with your car unnoticed.
I try to stay away from shopping carts, and play the odds, have a nice car on your right, since your gaurenteed a driver is getting in on that side, and you want him to be a nice guy. if you have to have a POS near you, put him on drivers side, since he might not have a passenger, and thus, wont open that door.

The one single time I parked up close to a store (I was just going to be in and out) some jackass dinged the hell out of my passenger side door.
For the sake of the Z, do NOT park close, or it may also happen to YOU!!!
Of course, when you park far away you run the risk of being keyed.
I guess its a tradeoff between dealing with a careless idiot, and dealing with an *** who is mean. Not sure which is worse.
Of course, I've been a careless idiot as well, but now that I have the Z I am always very careful.

Thats a little out there, but whatever you like to do. I normally park close because I don't feel like walking half a mile, but most of the time I park near a curb so my chances are 50% less of getting a ding. If it gets dinged, its repairable, no big deal.
Depending on where I am , I will double park...When I park far away there is always some **** box parked right on top of me, I hate that.
I will not go home if I cant find a good spot, that is a bit extreme.

I always try to park by a curb so only one other car can park next to me. I don't park WAY out, because I don't want to run the risk of someone jacking with my car unnoticed. And I NEVER park next to a minivan or big *** SUV because more than likely it's a "soccer mom" (no offense intended here) and I've noticed they really don't pay attention when loading up the kids, etc. and usually hit the car next to them. But I don't turn around if I can't find my optimal spot.

I don't leave if I can't find a spot, but always park a little farther out, usually against a curb on the downhill side of an island, to protect against flying shopping carts.
I have also found that its actually quicker to park at the back of a lot and not have to deal with slowpokes looking for that perfect spot. I can be out of my car and in the store before I would have found a spot if I tried to park close.

Be carefull double parking. If you double park and then the lot fills up somebody might be VERY pissed that they can't find a spot because you have 2 spots.

Either way though its a car, and if we worry too much we lose the fun in it.
I do the same thing as most here. I never park up close, always next to a curb and if I have to park next to someoe I park next to a nice car.........but have seen a guy w/ a new, hot Navagator and the guy just swung the door open as far as he could and didn't care he hitting someone else.
I think it's dangerous to be the lone car at the *** end of a parking lot - much more likely to be keyed by jealous haters.
I also try not to go to shopping cart places - have street parked instead of lot parked for places like Target and the grocery store and just lug plastic bags a mile back to the car.
How's that for crazy?
I try to park next to Bimmers and even ricers, etc. b/c they care about cars. Just not next to SUV's and minivans, like speedracer said.

I usually try to park at the far end of the lot. I have had too many cars get door dings from minivans and SUVs to take a chance with inconsiderate a-holes. Ironically I just got back from Wal-Mart and I was parked in the empty no-mans-land section of the Wal-Mart parking lot right near a black Viper...
Well I feel your concern it's mine to, I park near the curb to put as much space as possible between my Z and whoever may park next to it sofar so good.
Recently I park at a eating place here and I parked in the back corner in two parking spots, the curb was on the driver side with about 3 to 4 feet of space to the curb and as I went in to dine and I felt safe well quess what, as I exited the bldg I saw plenty of vacant spots for people to park near the entrance so my mind was at ease. I looked in the rear as I was getting to my Z and someone had parked a jeep wrangler in the spot near the curb and half way up on the dirt. Only 2 feet at best from the car driver side door. The rage that swept through me probably was tremendous, I din't know if he had scratch it or dinged it as I closely inspected this no damage. But I'm 6' 4, 285 and could not get in my Z. So someone out the jeep in neutral and push it on it way, enough said. Just be careful

I try to park it as close as possibly to where I'm going so I can see it in sight or others can just incase. I try to stay away from the vans and SUV's, and at school park in a spot where only one other person parks next to me, since the other side is handicapped.
Some people do it on purpose.
Some just don't give a ****.
Some don't know how to open doors correctly.
Some are under the age of 14.
Some are old.
Some are blind!
Some are that big that thet NEED to dink doors to get out their cars.
Some.....
When you add it all up, there are lots of them out there.....
I park are far away as possible from everyone, and as a plus point, I've heard that walking is good for you.
