Default Renting a Z. Space question

I'm thinking about renting a Z this weekend in Cali. Does the back have enough room for 2 carryon bags?

we're talking 22" roller bags, right?

I'm also thinking about a miata or Elise. I think the elise is out of the question.

If it can be used as carryon, no prob. I've had enough in there for 3 people (friend was on a bike, plus high maintenance gf) plus a small dog and dog supplies for a week trip.

Forget the elise and forget the miata if you have any "stuff". I tried renting a miata in san diego, and couldn't fit ANYTHING inside it. I had to trade it for a chrysler sebring. lol.

No worries about the z, man.

For sure you could fit a 22" carry-on plus a duffle bag plus a garment bag on top. I wouldn't promise that you could fit two 22" bags, though. Maybe it's possible.

Default A question

I just bought my 04 touring coupe. I have only put about 250 miles on it so far, and I enjoy driving it.

In regards to room in the "trunk" I was reading the service manual and it appears that the "rollbar" is really hollow and not a rollbar. It looks like you could remove it and have a lot more usuable room. Anyone had that apart and/or is this a real dumb idea? I realize that you would have to do something about the side panels.

Soft luggage is no problem. Hard luggage can be a problem depending on the size and shape. Many smaller bags works a lot easier than on big one.
