Test Drive 06
I'm going to be in the market for a manual soon, the '04 is automatic. I test drove a PPW 06 yesterday, Enthusiast trim. Very clean car and only 9800 miles. It was a trade-in at Palm Beach Toyota and a local dealer in Orlando has it for sale.
I've been reading a lot about the oil consumption issues and also clutch chatter and tranny issues. I noticed on this car there was a bit of chatter on start up and a little whirring noise while stepping on the clutch at idle. Most likely throw out bearing. The noise quieted down as the car warmed up. I noticed the car didn't seem that much quicker than the 04, pretty much same experience. As I turned the car off I noticed there was a little chatter/rattle.
From what I've read so far, I'm assuming mid 04's to 05 year models are the ones to look for and the ones that seem less problematic.
Just posting my experience if you guys have any addt'l tips to look out for.
Thanks.

No I haven't found one yet. After reading the Automobile Mag regarding the dyno on the G37, I am seriously considering holding out for the "new" Z. I had originally planned to get a new car when I graduate (college) end of year, but started considering other options since I had some money saved up. I am still looking to see what I come across maybe if I get a good deal I might jump on it in the meantime. I still have to sell my Z32 as well.
