Overlay and post your results in a new thread when you get a chance. I hope mine was just a fluke.

5/16th's also lowers were peak power is made, and I'm not sure that's a good thing.

I can't belive someone bumped this.

What?

Makes peak power ~75RPMs past original peak point.

I skipped to the end after reading a few posts. Your z has 18 pounds more trq. I had an 03 track z, I could chirp all the to third. Iv'e even been able to brake third lose sometimes (colder weather) My 05 track z (w/ rev up) When it came in and i drove it i was pissed! I could barely chirp 2nd! I was steaming! My 03 could have eaten my 05 for lunch and still have room for desert! I quickly went out and put mods on it! Nissan sacrificing 18 lbs trq to give 13hp was the worse thing they could have done! But i'm sure that one mistake will lead to something greater!

Does any one know the Tourque difference between the 287 HP and the 300 HP. My guess is the 287 HP has more. Sometimes this will trump raw HP.

USE THE SEARCH BUTTON. IT IS THERE FOR A REASON.

Mods: It would be nice to lock this thread. I think most others would agree.

I've heard many times that the 287 engine FEELS faster than my HR engine. Could be that it's louder and less refined. But that's what some people like

Default Torque

It is def, the torque and I agree they should have left the engine alone I have an 06 semi oil eater and I drove my friends 03 the other day and the extra torque makes it feel so much more powerful for the gear changes

My 03 with only Borla exhaust and JWT intake hit 247 rwt on a dyno.

I have an '04 performance w/ minor mods i spin hard second, chirp 3rd and sometimes chirp 4th. i have almost brand new FK452's (purchased in July). the reason the older Z's pull so hard is the torque rating. When the Z's went to 300hp they lost torque. The newer Z's don't have as much off the line as the originals (03-04).
if you are in a stock Z and have no plan or no money to mod it, then just sell it, the new G37 is going to smoke you. I don't know about you but i don't want to be smoked by a G ever. I would recommend buying an S2000, cuz they are maybe .10 slower in the quarter stock against a Z, and if you get beat by a G at least you have an excuse of 2 less cylinders. Or work some overtime and start upgrading your Nissan (which is what i'm doing).
