Imo, the views backwards out of the Z are less than ideal. But if my 64 year eyes & bones can get used to it, you surely can!

Worse situation is backing out of a parking spot with cars on either side. Therefore I back into parking stalls & pull out facing forward.

I'm 6'2".

the rear window takes a little getting used to as you dont have the amount of visibility you would with MOST other cars. you pretty much see the road behind you and all the way back....not much sky. but once you get used to it, it's better. with the rear, what bothers me more is the fact that anything you might have in the back is reflected up into the window.

as far as blind spots go... there are none if you adjust your mirrors the right way. granted, i'm five two so i dont know how useful this is to you but what i did was sit normally in the car, adjust the mirrors so that the inner edge is just barely reflecting the car, then turn then even more outward than that. you should have to lean forward to see the cars reflection. so the range of sight you get between your normal seated position and the leaning forward position pretty much covers all blind spots.

i have no idea if that made sense but basically, anytime i wanna change lanes i scope out the lane in the rear view, look in the side, lean forward to make sure i'm not missing anything, lean back again and change. no blind spots, yay.

A big + 1 on that!!!! Also the amusement factor watching someone being stunned that you're backing into a carpark when they've just struggled to go forwards into their carpark. lol

The one thing to remember is it's a sports coupe so the rapier of the roof line is different to your average family sedan. I personally don't think the potential lack of visability is any worse than any other sports car/coupe. As Joe says, adjust your mirrors in the right place, and problem just about disappears.

I find that my third eye helps, especially in drive-throughs where the menu is behind the order area, at mcdonalds on king and mclaughlin.

+1. 50,000 miles and no incidents. The right outside mirror covers the entire right side of the car. Trust your mirrors.

I don't find it that bad. You really can't look over your shoulder to check your blind spot (no windows) and your rear view is somewhat limited, more vertically than horizontally.

Other than that, it isn't that bad at all.

They're pretty bad at night especially with dark tint. I got used to it so it's no problem now.
It's better than blindspot on my friend's s2k. Man that car has some NASTY blind spot.

For what its worth, if need be, I use my electric mirror switch and swing the mirrors sideways or up and down to get a better view of whats happin'in if Im in interstate, congested, higher speed, lane changing, specially if Im doing a merge entering the Hi-Way

The blind spots on the Z are the worst ones on any car that I've personally owned, but the way I see it, it forces you to be careful... there's no substitute for using your mirrors and looking over your shoulders when maneuvering.

Yes, the rearview visibility is compromised in the Z compared to other cars, but you can compensate for this with aggressive/vigilant rearview surveillance. You just have to ask yourself...do you love the Z enough for this extra "work"?

Yes the Z has bad blind spots, so do most all sports cars.

There is a simple and effective solution though - the proper adjustment of your mirrors and learning to use them:

It take a week or two to get used to them but once you do you'll wonder how you ever got by without this method.

relative to other cars, the Z's rear visibility is horrendous, but it doesn't take long to get used to...its not like you'll back into something because of it
