I studied the prices before shopping. When I spoke with the salesperson, I already knew the max that I was willing to pay.

If they come with those crappy potenza's still, that would be the FIRST thing I would change. Those tires are garbage.

The first two things I would do are (1) have a great first drive and (2) spend some quality time reading the manual.

Assuming your not racing, I think the stock brakes are fine.

I believe that the 07s come with the REO50s which are a good tire. I couldn't agree more with you on the old REO40s.

If financing the car, have the dealer install a set of Hotchkis adjustable sway bars for sure, and pick out an exhaust and have it installed. You might as well finance the whole enchilada-it's easier than coming up with the scratch later.I just got my'07,and I'm 54.If you have enjoyed the feel of Camaros and Firebirds in the past, you will love the feel of this car.It is nice and wide inside!

Not sure about the brakes...my 06's leave very little (if any) brake dust. I do clean them off every time I was the car and put a coat of wax on twice a year, so that may help. But they dont seem as bad as most people make them out to be.

I know they changed the front brakes for 06 (same as 07), so that may have fixed it.

the Backyard Rat is right on track. besides the clear bra and not letting them drill the holes in the bumper, you need to have a great first ride. just take it out and enjoy it, get a feel for it, all the good stuff. and when you get home you can read the manual.. there are some things you might not realize the car has if you don't read it. like if you hold the unlock button from your key clicker... the windows will go down!! you know, just little things you could go years w/o knowing. enjoy the car and i'm willing to bet you that you won't regret buying one. it's a great car!

Adding the clear bra, tint, grille and clear side reflectors were the first things I did. The grille was a mistake and now it sits on my work bench collecting dust.

I'd get used to it before you begin your mods. Enjoy what it has to offer. Heck, you're only 50.

After you've experience all that you could with it stock and you feel like making changes, then like the other guy said: "have a plan".

1) EBC Greenstuff Brake Pads
2) Colgan Bra - I like the added protection it gives over the clear bra. Plus I can take it off and I don't have to see the cut lines.
3) Popcharger
4) Don't let them drill your bumper and get a tow hook license plate holder.
5) If you don't have subwoofer behind the driver seat; open that area up and get some carpet in there. That will make some good extra storage for just the price of carpet.
6) Don't buy it with mud flaps or take them off day one. They mess up the paint and panels. Dirt and such get behind them and scratches the paint as well and collects stuff. Bad design imo.
7) For me I would have put on the G35 Spoiler a lot sooner. Even though I had to modify it to fit properly.

That's my .02

Or, at least some type of bra. I agree it's the first thing to get.

This is the only reason the front of my car looks brand new after 3.5 years.

if you get brakes dont get ebc greenstuff pads. they say "low dust" but thats garbage. i love the stopping power and the way they feel, but not the fact i have to wipe my wheels everyday, sometimes twice.

Mine don't ... Do you have aftermarket rotors? That's a weird statement. Haven't heard that one before.

Now the factory ones I had to dust off everyday. Now I can go two week between and if I don't wash my car I have to dust them to get the light coating of brake dust off of there. But, 25% of what the factory pad would do in two days of driving.

Here's a shot after 75 miles of driving:

With the original set the rims would be dusted completely. And that was right after I put them on with residue left from original set. Now, it seems to be even better.

With my '06 Wheel on there ... farther away from the brake pads ... It look like ^ after 400miles or a tank of gas.... I did make sure to use shim compound when I installed. Maybe this poster has some vibration going on causing more dust. In my case I don't have to really think about dusting them off anymore. Dunno .... but, weird ...

I suppose if you are running mountain roads all day long they would dust more ... But, I do a lot of braking around here at 50mph plus... Lot's of freeways and country roads. Just weird .....
