At least in my case. When I was young I'd buy a new car every year ... or trade up. Now, I buy a car and drive them for years without getting a new one. I buy other stuff instead - Bikes, Boats, Motorhomes, Houses ...
Save for retirement, kids .... etc...

Choose your area, and it'll list the certified shops that does it.
This is always the answer that scares me:
Q. Will Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film harm the painted surface if the film is removed?
A. If the film is properly applied to a fully cured painted vehicle, it can be removed, usually in one piece, without damaging paint surfaces beneath the film.
So, I think you want to wait at least six months for the paint to cure for sure if you ever plan on taking it off and replacing it.
Q. What is the Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film warranty?
A. 3M warrants that Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film, installed after November 1, 2003, will be free of defects in materials and manufacture — including yellowing, bubbling, or cracking — for five (5) years from date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, accident, misapplication, or ordinary wear, nor does it apply to dents caused by physical impact of rocks or road debris.
It is nice to know they cover for yellowing for five years. However, the yellowing doesn't happen until year 7 or so if garaged of covered. Lol !!!
Not sure why they wouldn't cover for impact of rocks etc... That's why you buy it. Weird.
Don't get me wrong this stuff works their coverage is poor however, imo.
Then again, I keep my cars over 10 years now.
LOL - Had I installed mine it wouldn't have been covered at all. Nov 1st 2003 WTF is with that?

I wouldn't change a thing right now until you really need to. Once the brakes wear out then upgrade them. Clear bra is okay, but it's just a car! My 2007 has not chipped yet so I say your good. Just make sure you wash it once a week and get some bug tar remover because bugs love the front bumper on this one
Oh and as far as the break in period, just make sure you don't red line her. You should try and not go over 4000 rpm but it's okay to do so once in a while, I hit 6000 rpm during my break in and I have not a single issue. The key is not to ABUSE your car as in beating the **** out of her everyday, you know?
Peace!

First thing you must do - drop the top and take the long way home. If for some reason it's raining on your planned delivery day - delay picking it up until the sun is out. It had been raining the morning I bought my 06 ZR but was clear and sunshine when I went back to pick it up.
Don't make any changes to it right off the bat. Learn the car and decide what you like and don't like. Then you can make informed changes and not waste a bunch of $$$.

1.good price on car.
2.like the previous=clear bra.
3.take time looking over the car for nicks, dents and scratches.
4.call now and tell the dealership not to put on FRONT DEALER PLATE, unless you want holes in your bumper.
just my 2 cents.

OP here.
Sound advice from all of you & I thank you.
No holes drilled in the bumper, a coat of zaino(whatever that is) & a clear bra are my very first priorities.
I am now in the process of cleaning out my side of the garage to store her whenever she arrives.
This Z will stay garaged, I have a Ford truck for everyday driving.
Even though it will be garaged, I might need a cover for her since we have a cat that sleeps in the garage I worry about claw scratches. I would just kill the cat but I fear the wrath of my wife more than the scratches.
Owned my first two Z's, probably before most of you guys were born. I have had cars before and since then but nothing has ever compared to my old Z's.
Don't know why its taken me so long to get back into one.
Oh, and as far as the 20 year old chick goes, I have a 50 year old wife who is still so hot I can't wait to show her off in the Z. I guarantee you the wife looks as good with her top down as does the roadster.
Thanks....Rat (an old newbie)

Yo Rat...I'm the site's resident Rat before you signed on! LOL!
Welcome to the club. And, like you, I have a wife who still gets my blood pumping even though she turned 60 last year. When she is dressed up guys half our age flirt with her. If you will post pics of your wife with "top down", I'll post some recent ones of mine that I'll guarantee will surprise the crowd as well!
As for car cover, here is the one I bought for use on trips.
