Default Fresh out of da box

Have an '07 Z roadster ordered. Due in about 60 days.

I'm 50 years old and need some advice from you young veterans.

If you were to say to yourself,

"I sure wish I would have done this or that when I first picked up my Z from the dealership"

or

"I sure am glad I did this or that when my Z was brand spankin new"

or

" I wish I had done this or that before my Z arrived."

What would this or that be?

Brake pads. Stock ones dust like crazy. They dust even if you think about braking.

+1 on the brakes and a clear bra because the paint chips VERY easy!

Don't let the dealer wash it, cuz they will scratch the clear coat and then you will be fighting swirls for the rest of your days. And give the car a good walk around and looking over before you drive off, just because it's new doesn't mean they didn't ding it up already.

First of all, while you're still at the dealer and BEFORE you sign the papers do a thorough walk around looking for damage such as scratches or curb rash.
Then look for a clear bra before the rock chips start.
Apply at least one coat of Zaino. You won't believe how good your car will look especially if it's a dark color.
BTW, I bought mine at age 52 and I'm 54 now. Best money I've ever spent!!!

other than the fact that the roadsters are ugly and chicks drive convertables, no worries. Hah, just bustin you ballz. I haven't had any brake dust issues, although I keep mine clean. Get a Zee Bracket for your front plate and maybe a shorty antennae.

1st: Dont let them drill your front bumper for plates
2nd: Apply clear bra for rock chip protection
3rd: Hawk HPS brake pads (or something similar) for better braking and low dust
4th: Have fun

i agree with the people who suggested brembos or at least brake pads to eliminate the dust. also, i dont know if you plan on modifying the car or not but if you do, make sure you have a plan for what you want your end result to be. if you dont have a plan, you end up getting side tracked and buying things that you regret down the road.

and probably the most important!!! MAKE SURE YOU DO THE BREAK IN PROPERLY! this will ensure your z will run for a long long time

Agreed. I got black crap all over my car on every drive. I have to dust it before I store it all the time cuz it drives me nut already

Unless you plan on doing some serious track racing, you can forget the Brembos.

Definitely consider the clear bra though.

1) Watch-out for Dealer advertising stuck on the car (unless you really like the guy).
2) If the odometer has more than 10 miles, it's used, and you should not pay a new-car price.

Yup im telling you right now... A CLEAR BRA. I have only had my coupe for 4 months now and it looks like I Rally Cross with the Z on rock roads... The clear bra would make a you one happy camper knowing your front end wont look like a chips ahoy cookie like mine does.

='(
