Sorry, couldn't help that. Someone paying $30-$32k for a 3-yr old car which, when it was first bought back in '04, had cost around that much before taxes, should get his head examined.

Yes, but not that different. Only a fool will pay $32k for an '04 today, regardless of mileage or trim, when he can walk into a dealership and buy a decently-equipped brand new '07 for the same price.

I was comparing what I would have to spend for an 04 with only 9k on it if I went to another person.
Some are telling me it's a great deal, others are not. If I decide I want the car, I'm going to do it.
I do apprecaite all the comments though-although the mature comments are more appreciated

I also think the 10k is a bit steep, your Pops should be giving you a little bit better of a deal then this, so I would think. I'd say offer him 6-8k. Also how much left does he owe on the car? You can get an 04 in really good condition, like your Dads for about 20-22k. Now if the 8k or 10K or whatever you give him, plus the combination of what he owes and your gonna take over on is over 20k, then I dont think its the greatest of a deals to get from your dad. You Dad should be willing to take more then a 2k hit, not very generous considering hes your Pops. I mean the first day when you drive it off the lot, the car goes down value by like 4k.

If indeed your total payment for the car is around $16k or less, do it - that's a great deal. You could even sell the car off yourself and make a tidy profit.
If it's an 04, ask your dad if he's had any warranty work done on the tire feathering issue.

Issue seems to be what your paying for the car. What is the principal still owed on the loan? Add that to $10,000 to get price your paying.
But with only 9,000 miles on the car plus knowing its in good shape (from having been around it since 11/06), even if your a little over market it's fine

You are getting ripped off... Talk him down. If he has the ***** to ask you to pay $10,000 then you should have the ***** to haggle him down to 6 - 7,000.

Incidentally, a 2004 6MT Touring w/ 9000 miles in excellent condition has a $24770 KBB private sale value, so anything under $20k is decent.
Whatever...it's pretty obvious you're not a genius, mathematical or otherwise...

I'd say just find out how much you are going to pay for it in total and compare it to other Zs in similar age/mileage range. However, the condition that you talk about and mileage is a BIG plus....plus it's white...tight color (haha, sort of biased opinion, sorry)
Overall though....sounds like it's pretty legit...
Back to the thing with Asian people...I would slightly agree...I'm Korean and my parents never make me buy stuff off of them...when they offered me to buy my dad's Maxima a long time ago...they told me to just pay whatever was left...it was an '03 with 40K miles (SE) and the remaining payments was $7 grand...they said take over payments monthly or just pay it off and it's yours...
I didn't take it of course....since I didn't want an automatic Maxima...but anyhow...yeah...I agree with the fact that parents should cut you a break...I know if I was a parent I would but my kids a break.
